Sam Ruff presented information on Indiana Online Academy's driver education program and a call to action to recruit more driver education instructors. The number of students enrolled in the program has increased each year but there are not enough instructors. Benefits of becoming an instructor include extra income, use of a program vehicle, a flexible schedule, and teacher retirement contributions. Ruff also discussed Online Learning Today with Kim Hendrick, including topics like backchannel interaction, new media literacies, and a free MOOC opportunity. Hendrick provided an update on Indiana Online Academy, including transitions to new student information and learning management systems to improve data analytics, compatibility, and allow for individualized learning pathways.
