Description:
The Mason Neck Trail – Segment 2B project was substantially complete on August 24, 2017. This
project provided approximately 9,900 linear feet of an 8-foot wide asphalt trail along Gunston Road
between Pohick Bay Drive and the entrance to Pohick Bay Golf Course.
Project Overview:
• Approximately 570 linear feet of HR-1 and HR-2 handrails installed for safety considerations.
• Approximately 1,060 linear feet of storm sewer culverts were installed or extended to provide
drainage under the trail or driveway entrances to improve drainage within the vicinity of the
trail.
• Existing driveway entrances within the project limits were replaced with new PE-1 paved
entrances.
