3. Schedule and formatting
• Radio One early morning 6:30-10 am weekdays Appeals to
people going to work early Teenagers going to school, general
early morning commuters.
• Majority of the music played is chart music. Which appeals to
a wider audience as there is large age range. Non specialist

• News bulletins are every hour and half past the hour.
4. Presenters
•The Breakfast Show only has one host, Nick Grimshaw, 27 year
old from Oldham. He has worked on Radio One since 2007 on
his former show with fellow DJ Annie Mac which was a late
night Sunday alternative music show.
• Nick appeals to a younger audience due to his presenting
history on shows such as T4 and is know for his celebrity
connections.
5. Camera
•The Breakfast Show will often have special guests coming into
the studio for promotion and interviews. In these cases the
studio will have cameras so it can be streamed live from the
Radio One website.
•There will usually only be 3 or 4 camera in the studio.
•This allows the audience to feel closer to what's happening, and
adds a visual element to the show, which makes it more
entertaining for the audience, as they are able to see the
celebrities as they are being interviewed in the studio.
6. Verbal Elements
•The show includes calls from the listens often throughout the
duration of the show this means the listener is feel more
involved with the show and means the conversation is kept
current and interesting.
•Games and features are scheduled in the show and are regular,
happening every day. Having games and features scheduled at
certain times of the show creates familiarity and means the
listeners at that particular time get used to them and grow to
like them.
• The presenter has a Northern regional accent, which connects
him to the working class listeners and allows them to relate to
him, also makes him sound friendly.- social integration.
7. Sound Elements
• One of the sound elements to the show is the music that is
played. They type of music is varied and there is quite a wide
range how ever the majority of the music is chart and pop
music, as well as some alternative and specialist types of
music.
• Also sound effects and jingles, the jingle played at the
beginning of the show is the same every day this means the
listeners recognise this and become used to it, so it becpmes
like a trademark of the show.
