2. The black box room in my school is a great way to set a base for your music
video as well as giving you great footage that would be used to great effect.
These shots will be very effective and the way I will do this is through the use of
the red lights. Having just the back red light on will create a very eye catching
silhouette of my actor. It adds to the theme of the song as well, the theme is
very sad and a little moving as he has lost his girlfriend and is trying to get her
back meaning he is in a dark place at the moment, the black box room is
excellent in being able to get these emotions across as the dark settings can be
very effective. I will have him singing the song as well as just walking round and
showing he’s upset etc. I will have various shots for the singing footage, I will
have close ups of his face looking in to the camera, close ups of him looking to
the side and also close ups of his mouth singing the song. I feel that only close
ups will work in the lip syncing aspect of my song if I want the viewer to feel his
pain too, mid shots and long shots will be used when the actor is walking
around and showing emotion. The black box room is one of the best ways to
make your actor stand out in the song and fortunately for me, one of the best
ways to show emotions through the use of lighting.
3. I have picked London as one of my locations because there is just
so much attractive features about it and there's so much you can
do filming wise. The shots that I will be taking in London will look
very interesting and will excite the viewer and target audience a
lot. London is one of the world’s most known cities and a lot of my
viewers will be able to relate to the surroundings of the actor in the
video meaning they would want to watch it more. The actor will be
walking around London trying to ‘find himself’ as he tries to cope
with losing his girlfriend and potentially going out to ‘clear his
head’. I will be filming close ups, mid shots and long shots up in
London to add variety to my video and so that it is not so repetitive
shot wise. The bright lights will be great shots to take if I wanted
to focus in and out of shots, this would give my video to very
different look, an appealing look.
4. The last location of my music video will be at my house. It
shows a sense of loneliness that he would be living by himself
in the video due to his girlfriend leaving. The shots in my
house will not be used that much in my video, there will be
just a view of him singing the song to have to add variety and
to keep the viewer interested. I plan on taking some footage
of the actor on the floor of the kitchen to add more of a sense
of him being upset and it will also attract the viewer when
watching it as it is not a normal thing to do. Also, some
singing shots in my loft with the dimmed lights could deem
effective due to the theme of the song being sad.
