2. As presented in the previous unit, injury
was defined as a damage to the body
caused by external factors. Unintentional
injury reters to injury that is unplanned
and it occurs without any intention or
causing damage to oneself or others. It is
sometimes considered as an accident.
4. 1. Bullying - Is considered to be unwanted
and an aggressive behavior that involves the
use of power, such as physical strength,
popularity, or a position of power to control
or harm others. An act is considered bullying
if it happens repeatedly or has the potential
to happen more than once.
6. a. Verbal Bullying - This involves saying
mean and hurtful things to others. It
includes teasing, name calling,
taunting, and threatening to cause
harm.
7. b. Social Bullying - This involves hurting or
tainting someone's reputation. It includes
humiliating someone in public, playing
practical jokes to embarrass someone,
encouraging people to exclude someone
socially, as well as lying and spreading
rumors.
8. c. Physical Bullying - This involves
physically hurting or damaging his her
possessions. This includes hitting,
kicking, pinching, pushing, spitting, and
taking or breaking someone else’s
things
9. d. Cyber Bullying - This takes place over
digital devices like mobile phones,
computers, and tablets. Cyber bullying
can happen through text or in social
media. This includes posting or sharing
negative, harmful, false, or mean content
about someone else.
10. 2. Stalking - This involves repeatedly
contacting or following someone.
This behavior causes the victim to feel
afraid, nervous, harassed, or in danger.
11. 3. Extortion - This is the act of using
force or threats to gain favors or
obtain money from someone.
12. 4. Kidnapping and abduction - Both terms refer
to the unlawful taking or detention of one
person by another. Abduction is the unlawful
interference, such as the taking of a child from
his/her parents, whether the person abducted
consents or not. Kidnapping is the taking or
detention of a person against his/her will
without lawful authority.
13. 5. Acts of terror - These are intentional acts
that may seriously damage a country or an
organization. This is also the use of
intentionally indiscriminate violence as a
means to create terror among masses of
people. It is also considered as violence
against peacetime.
14. 6. Suicide - Is the act or the instance of
taking one's own life voluntarily and
intentionally.
15. 7. Forms of Sexual Victimization. A form
of sexual victimization is sexual
harassment which refers to an act
involving any unwelcome sexual
advances, request or demand for sexual
favor, or other verbal or physical
behavior of a sexual nature.
16. 8. Domestic violence - Is also known as
domestic abuse or family violence.
It involves violence or abuse by one
person against another in a domestic
setting, such as in a marriage.
17. 9. Gang and youth violence - Gangs are
primarily made up of young people who
have grown up together as children. A
member of a gang may be called gangster.
Gang violence is the illegal and nonpolitical
act of violence perpetuated by gangs against
civilians, other gangs, and law enforcement
personnel.
18. 10. Illegal fraternity-related violence. Fraternity
refers to companionships dedicated to the
religious, intellectual, academic, physical, or social
pursuits of its members. Sometimes it refers to
various academic and student societies. Illegal
fraternity-related violence is brutality that involves
non-recognized fraternity groups. Hazing is the
most common example of this violence.
