1. FORM
IT IS THE STRUCTURE OF MUSIC. IT IS THE
COMBINATION OF ALL THE ELEMENTS OF MUSIC.
GENERALLY, THERE ARE ONLY TWO FORMS OF
MUSIC: VOCAL AND INSTRUMENTAL.

2. VOCAL FORM
1. Opera : it is musical drama which consist of a story and action
and is performed on stage with elaborate costumes.
2. Cantata: it is also a musical drama but is shorter than an opera
and longer than oratorio. The text can either be sacred or
secular
3. Oratorio: it is the shortest among the three. It is performed
without actions. The presence of a narrator who narrates the
events that are taking place on stage makes an oratorio differ
from opera and cantata.

3. INSTRUMENTAL FORM
1.Sonata: is a long instrumental work designed for a solo
instrument, usually the piano.
2.Concerto: it is another instrumental work designed for a
solo instruments with orchestral accompaniment. It
follows same movement with the sonata.
3.Symphony : it is an instrumental work designed for the
whole orchestra. It also follows the sonata form.
