2. INTRODUCTION
The video streaming system is a visual system that can play/stream flash videos and mp4
type of videos locally through synchronization.
3.SCOPE
The video streaming system will allow video and audio files to be loaded to the ICT
streaming system by lecturers, and lecturers will create a link in WISeUp which will point to
that particular video/audio in the ICT video streaming system.
4.PURPOSE
The purpose of this document is to:
Introduce a system that will decrease load on the internet bandwidth so as to provide
effective and efficient video sharing platform.
Have a system that will make it easy for students to download and view videos for
lecturers and students, possible such videos can be transferred to their portable
devices.
5.CURRENT SYSTEM
The current system uses WISeUp to load videos which offers mpeg, avi and quicktime
videos, these video formats occupy a lot of space and they are not easy to view or
download. With this current system the video take too long to open and sometime would not
open.

6. 6. PROPOSED SYSTEM
A visual system that can play/stream flash videos and mp4 type of videos locally (per
campus) through synchronization. A system that will make it easy for students and lecturers
to view and download videos, possible such videos be transferred to their portable devices
so as to promote blended learning. Lecturers will be able to download videos and place them
on localized servers.

Main Success Scenario 1. Lecturers will upload videos in the ICT Video

view and download a video through a link on
WiSeUp system.
4. The student will either view or save the video
in their portable devices.
Business rules The ICT Video Streaming will allow lecturers to

The students will only view and download videos
from WiSeUp.
The system should play .flv video files and .mp4
video files formats
6.1 SUMMARY OF IMPROVEMENTS
The video streaming system that can play/stream flash videos and mp4 type of videos locally
through synchronization. The system will allow user to easily download and view videos.
The user will download videos and place them on a localized server so as decrease load on
the internet bandwidth. To provide an efficient video sharing platform.

7.NEW REQUIREMENTS
7.1Security requirements
The system will be accessed by students and lectuers.

The ICT department will be responsible to support the infrastructure of the system.
8.ASSUMPTIONS AND CONSTRAINTS
The system won’t take long to implement and the project will be completed using tools and
techniques adopted by WSU. The proposed system will best fit in our infrastructure.
