1. Adverbs of frequency
Look at the examples below.
... they're always late for school...
(...ellos siempre llegan tarde a la escuela...)
...and they rarely do their homework.
(...y raramente hacen el trabajo de casa.)
We don't often see Guy.
(No vemos a Guy frecuentemente.)
In the evenings he usually goes out to bars or discos.
(Por la noche, él generalmente va a bares y discotecas.)
The words in bold are examples of adverbs of frequency. Adverbs of frequency tell us how often
something is done. Look at the different adverbs:

Adverbs of frequency usually go before the verb in a sentence.
He never goes to the cinema.
(Él nunca va al cine.)
I sometimes read a book in the evening.
(Yo a veces leo un libro por la noche.)
However, they go after am, are and is.
She's rarely late.
(Ella raramente llega atrasada.)
They're always here at 7 o'clock.
(Ellos siempre están aquí a las 7.)
