  1. The digital world has become pervasive in education and training. A lot of teaching and learning takes place online or digitally, hurried along by the COVID-19 pandemic but also by the never-ending quest for better education. Digital technologies support education innovation and delivery in multiple ways. How might countries harness the best of digital to boost education?  More… The PPT is for ETF to present its work on digital education (and on the digitalization of E&T systems - in a long run). To tailor the PPT o specific needs and audience, It includes libraries for e.g., key messages, policy recommendations, digital flagships etc. from which to tailor the PPT to specific audience. Adopters: LU “digital Luxembourg” strategy (all VET diplomas issued since Oct-21) HR issued its first multilingual digital degrees in Oct-21 Digital Innovations in Credential Evaluation and the Networks (DigiNet) using EDC for recognition, MT issued 2,200+ transcripts of records in early 2022, European Student Network issues non-formal training certificates from within a few weeks of joining the Early Adopters Programme, European Consortium of Innovative Universities (ECIU) building own solution, that includes exchange of credentials between the consortium and with digital credentials for micro-credentials Ongoing discussions with Germany, Austria, Spain (CertiDigital Project), Portugal, Belgium (nl), Ireland, Slovenia, Latvia
  3. The framework will have five distinct functions: [IDENTIFY] Learners to be awarded the credential documenting skills, competence or qualifications. [ISSUE] Credentials to learners (issued by awarding bodies) to be sent to the credential owner [STORE] Credentials after being issued by awarding body. Credentials owners will securely store credentials in a wallet (online or offline) [VERIFY] Authenticity of credential that has willingly been shared by a learner or jobseeker with an employer or other organisations. Verify as well that credential has been issued by accredited body. Mention that usually for paper certificates the user first shares and then verifies the credential. But for the DSC the verification will come with the sharing of the credential [SHARE] The credential with an employer or other organisations. Credential owners will decide with whome they wish to share their credential with.
  4. While EDCs can describe various aspects of learning, using 400 properties detailed in the ELM, only a handful of them are compulsory. Without these basic pieces of information, the EDC Issuer will not allow credential awarding bodies to issue credentials.
