marketing. “I’ve been in marketing basically my entire life,” he says. “In 2004, I walked out
of a management position with The Cheesecake Factory to chase a dream of being a
business owner.”

4. Real Estate Company
Frank Monte of Centurion started a real estate company at what he calls “the worst
possible time,” since it launched just before the housing market collapsed. But he tried to
turn that to his advantage. “I created a niche following the housing crisis and helped
hundreds of homeowners avoid the inevitable,” which with his help turned out not to be
inevitable. “My targets were homeowners struggling to stay above water in an upside
home and a lifeless economy.” Ordinary homeowners, he learned, were losing their
homes to unscrupulous lenders.
