Faith has always been a very controversial subject. The reason for the controversy is that we did not follow the interpretation of the original text of the Bible. Just like the following section, when we hear the word of God, love, we use what we understand of the world to explain God’s word, love, which brings others
John. 16:13 “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. ”
The error, is caused by, when interpreting the Bible, it is not for people to enter the truth, but for people to understand all the truths.
2. Preface
• Faith has always been a very controversial subject. The
reason for the controversy is that we did not follow the
interpretation of the original text of the Bible. Just like the
following section, when we hear the word of God, love, we
use what we understand of the world to explain God’s
word, love, which brings others
• John. 16:13 “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has
come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak
on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak;
and He will tell you things to come. ”
• The error, is caused by, when interpreting the Bible, it is not
for people to enter the truth, but for people to understand
all the truths.
3. Preface
• Rom. 1:17 “For in it the righteousness of God is
revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "The just
shall live by faith." ”
• Rom. 5:1 “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we
have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,”
• If the above verse is explained in the world’s way, it will
cause serious conflict with the following verse
• 2Cor. 13:5 “Examine yourselves as to whether you are
in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know
yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?--unless indeed
you are disqualified.”
4. Preface
• For another example, the next verse is related to
whether you can enter the kingdom of heaven. If
you use the method of the world to explain faith,
you don’t need any behavior at all. But God uses
this verse to tell us not only to have good
behavior, but also to conform to the Bible, and
it’s very rigorous, and requires you to go all way
out
• Matt. 7:21 “‘Not everyone who says to Me, ’Lord,
Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he
who does the will of My Father in heaven.”
5. What is faith
• Heb. 11:1 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped
for, the evidence of things not seen.”
• The correct translation of the original text of Coming
11:1 is: "The so-called faith is to be sure of what is
hoped for and to be sure of what is not seen.
• To put it in the straight forward, faith is actually the
cornerstone on which we do things, as the next verse
says
• Matt. 7:24 “‘Therefore whoever hears these sayings of
Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man
who built his house on the rock:”
6. Why do we need to have faith
• 2Cor. 5:7 “For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
• Our daily life, such as when driving through a
green light, is assuming that other people will
stop when they see the red light. This is faith.
7. The relationship of faith and salvation
• John. 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His
only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not
perish but have everlasting life.”
• If you want eternal life, you must believe into God’s only
beloved Son, Jesus Christ
• James. 2:14 “What does it profit, my brethren, if someone
says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save
him?”
• Pet. 1:9 “receiving the end of your faith--the salvation of
your souls.”
• Heb. 3:14 “For we have become partakers of Christ if we
hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end,”
8. How is faith created/maintained?
• John. 1:3 “All things were made through Him, and
without Him nothing was made that was made.”
• Everything is made by Jesus, including faith
• Heb. 12:2 “looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher
of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him
endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat
down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
• Luke. 22:32 “But I have prayed for you, that your faith
should not fail; and when you have returned to Me,
strengthen your brethren.’”
9. How to examine your faith
• Whether you have faith or not, who decides, 1)
yourself, 2) others including pastors, 3) or God
• If you choose option 1, then heaven is the place
that anyone can enter as long as they want to
enter. Of course it is a joke, because in today’s
society, no one can enter other people’s homes.
• If choice is option 2) then who has so much
power and can treat everyone fairly, I think no
one can agree to this option
• So the correct choice should be 3, because God is
the master of heaven, let’s see what God says
10. How to examine your faith
• 2Cor. 13:5 “Examine yourselves as to whether
you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not
know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?--
unless indeed you are disqualified.”
• Have faith = have Jesus Christ in your heart
• John. 14:23 “Jesus answered and said to him, "If
anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My
Father will love him, and We will come to him and
make Our home with him.”
• Obeying the Word of God will produce the
indwelling of Jesus
11. The condition to grow your faith
• Luke. 17:5 “And the apostles said to the Lord,
‘Increase our faith.’”
• James. 2:26 “For as the body without the
spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead
also.”
• It can be seen that obey GOD’s word it will
make the faith grow, otherwise, it will cause
the atrophy of faith and even death.
12. The condition to grow your faith
• Heb. 4:2 “For indeed the gospel was preached to
us as well as to them; but the word which they
heard did not profit them, not being mixed with
faith in those who heard it.”
• The greater the faith, the more God’s words can
be packed into it until to the point of perfection
• James. 2:22 “Do you see that faith was working
together with his works, and by works faith was
made perfect?”
13. The authority of faith
• 1John. 5:5 “Who is he who overcomes the
world, but he who believes that Jesus is the
Son of God?”
• James. 5:15 “And the prayer of faith will save
the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if
he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.”
14. God's sovereignty
• We understand that faith related subjects, but we still
don’t know, it’s God’s timing because
• Exodus 33:19 19 Then He said, “I will make all My
goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name
of the LORD before you. I will be gracious to whom I
will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I
will have compassion.”
• But we must constantly deny ourselves to gain the faith
we ask for
• Matt. 16:24 “Then Jesus said to His disciples, ‘If anyone
desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and
take up his cross, and follow Me.”
15. How to measure your faith size
• Great faith: Does the Bible say ao? As long as you
understand that is the Bible says, you can act
accordingly, even different from what you or the
world think
• This is the only show of faith that God accepts
• Middle Faith: In addition to the requirements of
great faith, you have to see how many times the
verses show up in the Bible, and you must also
doubt check whether God’s meaning is the same
as he thinks before doing it.
16. How to measure your faith size
• Little faith: In addition to the requirements of middle confidence, plus
what will happen if you don’t do it, and whether the consequences will be
serious enough before you decide whether to do it
• No faith: In addition to the requirements of middle faith, you have to
check what the world is saying, and you have to ask many people, and
then implement them according to the opinions of the majority.
• I) Summary: If a person who believes in God must have a corresponding
action, but please remember do not use it to measure others, unless the
other party has a request (please see the complaint part), God himself will
make judgments
