3. FUPOL – WP4 - DOW
Through analysis of different policy modelling cases and policy models
specification (from WP2) it is necessary to define the set of requirements to
software packages useable for designing of FUPOL simulator software. The
simulator software must ensure data import/export from the Open core
platform (WP3) to ensure initial data input for predefined simulation case
and have export facilities to analytic and visualisation subsystem (WP5).
The software must be verified and validated, but finally FUPOL vision must
be checked on the specific case defined by the industrial partners. The
demonstrator which will be designed will serve for quality assessment of the
FUPOL simulator software solutions.

4. FUPOL – WP4 – Task 4.1
Task 4.1: The Simulator Requirements Analysis
The aim of the task is to review and select most applicable set of simulation
software useable for different cases of policy modelling. To achieve the aim
different policy decision making modelling and simulation cases must be
analysed to define the set of appropriate requirements to the set of
simulation software platforms useable for policy modelling and influence
forecasting. The selection must be agreed with policy models specification
forms defined in WP2.

Task 4.2: Development of Interfaces
The aim of this task is to prepare a requirement set for a modern and
flexible data import/export interface that would be compatible with
simulation software tools (see Figure 4.1).

Design
The aim of this task is to develop recommendations for translation
processes, as a result of which the policy model, which has been described
in industry terms using natural language, possibly even graphical notation,
and/or Systems Specifications (A-translation, WP2), will be transformed to
the specific Simulation Tools notation.

Task 4.4: Validation and Verification (V&V)
• The aim of this task is to verify and validate the developed FUPOL
simulator software in accordance with typical practice.
