Frogs and other
animals complained,
that water is not in
good condition. They
heard her cry all night
long. The Magic Lojzik
came and saw that
people hurt water.
He threw all the
waste away. The
water is back to life
and animals with

this success.

4. December is a time when the III.
osnovna šola Celje organizes its
traditional Christmas Bazaar. It is
organized on a Saturday and just like
on any other school day the children
come to the school and prepare a
short programme for their parents
and set up their small »shops« on the
halls. The parents also come to
school that day along with many
other guests who are guests at our
bazaar. The bazaar itself is a
charitable event where we sell some
of our products we had created for
this purpose. We usually organize a
special »crafts« day in November
where we use recycled and other
materials to create Christmas cards,
holiday jam, small Christmas trees
and decoratins and many, many
more different things. We try and use
natural and recycled materials for
this to further develop the idea of our
Euro School Links project. The
money raised from the bazaar stays
at the school and is used for
financing some extra activities our
school offers and we help those of
our families who need our help the
most. This is to say, if there is a
school trip organized or a visit to a
museum, the families of those most
in need do not have to pay for these
activities.

6. The staff of Dun Gorg Preca
intends to develop and enhance
TEACHING and LEARNING in
a LOVING, CARING, CLEAN,
S A F E a n d H E A L T H Y
environment as well as to strive
to develop the potential of every
child.
THE SCHOOL
Our School is called Dun Gorg
Preca Primary ‘C’ and is
situated in Guze’ Pace Street,
Hamrun. It has been named
after the saint Dun Gorg Preca.
The present building is more
than eighty years old and the
student population is 435. Our
school uniform complete with
school badge and our sports
attire are very smart and
attractive.
There are very old documents,
registers and papers shelved in
the school archives, with the
oldest register dating back to
1861. These old documents
throw some light on the early
attempts at education and
schooling which became
compulsory in 1946.
At our school, once a year we
hold ‘Prize Day’, when a great
number of students are awarded
book prizes either for their high
marks in the examinations or for
their qualities or talents.

Earth Day is very important
for the community of 67th
Inclusive Primary School.
Each year we take part in a
set of whole day events to
enhance local awareness of
ecological problems and
solutions.
This spring we had an Eco
March along the most
common local paths.
Students were dressed
accordingly to the ecosystem
they chose – some classes
were green, some blue with
pictures of different
endangered plants and
animals attached to their
clothes.
Students were handing over
leaflets to citizens informing
about the action of collecting
waste electrical and
electronic equipment
(WEEE) conducted by our
school.

9. Welsh, Italian and Portuguese students
and teachers participated, during the
month of November 2012, in Glan
Conwy in Euro School Links Trilateral
Meeting. Inês, Ana Inês, Guilherme e
Sérgio, during a week, shared a week full
of new experiences, cultural exchanges,
sports, art and language classes in Isgol
Glan Conwy.
Welsh students, teachers and parents
welcomed foreign students in their homes
for afternoon activities, meals and
prepared evening festivals at school
(Bingo, disco night) and school trips and
path walks around Snowdonia, Slates
Museum, and 'Gelert's Grave', following
the footpath along the banks of the
Glaslyn. According to legend, the stone
monument in the field marks the resting
place of 'Gelert', the faithful hound of the
medieval Welsh Prince Llewelyn the
Great.
We had also the opportunity to visit the
Middle School and to develop research
activities about our own region in the
computer laboratory.
In the gymnasium we learned how to play
school basketball and hockey.
Our students presented our Eco School
Box Quiz and the welsh students
corresponded with very good researches
on Portuguese language, traditions and
symbols. Portuguese Students also
presented a PowerPoint about their
families, our region and our country,
together with some items that they
collected for the Amazing Eco Box ,
offered to Ysgol Glen Conwy and to the
Italian school, together with our Eco
Mascot.

11. Jully 2014
This year we have had
serious difficulties doing
the activity "Bicycle
Day" our high school.
Although our students,
in their mainly rural
e n v i r o n m e n t , u s e
bicycles regularly; the
works in the roads near
our school would have
obliged them to take
another, more dangerous
route. Instead, it was
decided to make a
display photos in our
school.
So this year, we decided
to get closer look at the
everyday live of our
students. We proposed
that they each take a
picture with their bikes,
write a brief description
of how and when they
use the bikes, and finally,
give a short speech that
would defend the value
of the their bikes. Their
work was exhibited at the
school as inspiration for
the rest of the students.
