1. Band Image Analysis
This picture is informally balanced because her hair
is scraped to the side. However, everything else is
formally balanced. She is provocatively dressed and
the image is sexualised. There is a golden hue which
emphasizes the R&B genre of music and its
glamorous and sophisticated edge. She’s wearing a
gold necklace showing her wealth. In addition she is
showing 2 tattoos displaying her edginess. She is
also smoking which makes her seem less innocent.
This image is formally balanced. His body
and face are symmetrical and the
background seems to be in a rough
secluded looking area. This could
represent the indie sort of genre because
of its rough and organic look. You could
argue that it is informally balanced
because his head is slightly tilted however,
this is very minor. His haircut is old
fashioned and seems to be taken from the
90’s this exaggerates his indie look.
2. A fish eye lens is used and it creates disorientation. They are all wearing masks which creates alienation and represents
the genre of music because it is quite aggressive in the way that they are provocatively stood. They seem threatening
because they are wearing masks and hiding their identity also one of them is holding a weapon. In addition, some of them
are wearing army clothes which represent violence. Also, the colours used are dark which makes the mood of the image
unsettling and disturbing. The room they are in looks dilapidated this exaggerates the horror of it because it seems
abandoned and through the windows it looks like the woods so it is a secluded area. When you look at the image it
appears as if you are in the corner of the room and they are trapping you there.
This image is very informally
balanced because he is on the side
rather than the middle. The image is
also very evocative of the reggae
genre as there are palm trees in the
background. In addition, it uses rule
of thirds because his face is in the
top left intersection of the rule of
thirds, this draws people’s eyes
towards his face.
3. This band is aimed at young girls and they’re all wearing white which represents purity. It is formally balanced because
there are two girls on each side wearing white and one in the middle wearing nude clothing, in addition, the three dark
haired girls are stood in the middle and the light haired girls are at the ends. They are dressed provocatively and they are
sexualised because their clothing is revealing. Their poses are informally balanced showing them at different angles.
