This document discusses a concept based on John Bunyan's "The Pilgrim's Progress" about two characters, Mip and Mop, visiting the Interpreter's House. Mip has all of her research and work digitized and stored on her backpack. The Interpreter tells a story about a pilgrim named Temporary who was stuck in her ways. He watches over digital data for corporations, calling it his "flock", and offers to store Mip's data for a fee depending on the amount. Mip hands her backpack over to him for storage.

3. My research, my drafts, my images - everything I’ve done.
But it’s digitised, isn’t it? You haven’t got wads of paper, have you? And he looked over her
shoulder and started to pry. Mip snatched her pack away.
Of course it’s digitised! It’s still heavy. Where have you got your stuff?
4. Mop didn’t reply. Truth to tell, he wasn’t very good at filing. He didn’t take
it with him, and if he needed something it took a long time to find it, and
was lost as often as not.
The interpreter, who had come out of his fugue, related a story of some
chick called Temporary, a would-be pilgrim who was too stuck in her ways,
and didn't know that you have to learn to swing with the punches.
5. Around the interpreter’s house was the strangest flock of sheep you ever
did see.
So what sort of sheep are these?’, Mip asked when she had digested the
tale.
Not sheep, data’, he replied. ‘I agist my fields to the corporates. It get lots
to eat, its safe and dry. Paradise, really. For data, that is. Mind you, its a bit
dull. All this data, just sitting round. Actually, I shouldn’t even let you see it,
you don’t have the password.
‘So – data?
‘Everyone’s got data. They used to have filing cabinets, then they have
hard drives and now they have me.’
‘So, can I give you my data?, Mip asked.
‘Sure. If you have a lot of it, I’ll charge you a fee, but if its only a bit, then its
free.’
Mip handed over her backpack. Mop thought about getting organised.
