George Chaponda has served humanitarian causes his entire life. He has dedicated himself to alleviating suffering for those affected by violence and social upheaval. During his career he has travelled through many countries and has made a difference for people wherever he went. He was born in Nyasaland (present day Malawi) in 1942 and was awarded a scholarship to attend Delhi University based on merit. His attention to academic excellence would serve him well. Mr. Chaponda holds degrees from three universities. He graduated from Yale University, where he studied on another scholarship.
