1. How to Avoid Pesky Time-Killing Distractions...
Hello, and welcome back to the Dynamic
Productivity ecourse!
Have you ever sat down to work on something and you ended
up wasting your entire work time?
Maybe wasted just a few hours.
Maybe you wasted an entire day.
Either way, you kicked yourself later. You couldn't believe
that all that time slipped away without you accomplishing
anything productive.
Chances are, you just got distracted. Something bright and
shiny came along to derail you. And that's why you need to
learn how to block out as many distractions as possible
before you even start working.
Here's how to get it done:
- Shut off your phone. If you're going to work for
a couple hours, then your phone needs to be shut
off. If you can't help but check for text messages
then you may need to have a trusted friend or
family member hold onto your phone while you work.
- Tell your household members you need some truly
uninterrupted time. I know, this is easier said
than done, especially if you have small children.
However, you'll find out some pretty slick ways
to deal with this issue when you subscribe to
the Dynamic Productivity membership site. You
can do it here: Dynamic Productivity Institute
- Close unnecessary windows. If you're working on
your computer, then you need to shut down your
email as well as all other unnecessary windows.
If you're still tempted to browse, then unplug
from the internet. You may even need to go one
step further by taking a laptop someplace where
you can't get an internet connection.
Now that you've brushed all the major distractions out of
the way, it's time for you to get serious and get to work.
Next time you'll discover a simple productivity tip that
will have you racing towards your goals in no time!
