BOULDER CYCLE SPORT TO OPEN SECOND LOCATION IN SOUTH BOULDER
Boulder, CO –April 22, 2010–Boulder Cycle Sport will be opening a second location in May at the growing
Table Mesa Shopping Center in South Boulder.
“We are very excited to open our second store in South Boulder, “ said the shop’s co‐owner Brandon
Dwight. “The South Boulder area is booming with activity. From all the great businesses in the area, to the
new mountain bike trails south of town, there really is a lot happening.”
The shop will be located at 629 S. Broadway Suite K, in the former The North Face space, next to the
Southern Sun Brewery. From a wide variety of cycling products and services and a staff bent on inspiring
the community to ride, Boulder Cycle Sport will continue to offer the outstanding service and product it’s
customers have come to appreciate.
”First and foremost we want to be a great community bike shop,” said store co‐owner Brandon Dwight.
“With the evolving demographic in South Boulder and the area’s proximity to great biking trails and road
riding loops, we felt a bike shop could really serve South Boulder and the surrounding areas very well.”
Boulder Cycle Sport offers road, mountain, cyclocross, comfort, cruiser and kid’s bikes as well as a complete
line of bicycling accessories and apparel, and unique cycling gifts. A full‐time staff is on hand for repairs and
maintenance services as well as professional bike fitting and all‐around cycling inspiration.
“ We are pleased to offer the cycling community more options and are greatly appreciative of the support
to our North Boulder shop over the past five years,” said Taro Smith, co‐owner. “Our new shop will serve
the ever growing bike needs for the families in the South Boulder area, plus we are going to have one of the
largest women’s cycling departments in the area. Of course, we will continue to provide unparalleled
customer service to our community, which has become the signature of Boulder Cycle Sport.”
Boulder Cycle Sport was founded in January 2005 by two University of Colorado graduates , Taro Smith and
Brandon Dwight, in order to provide a community‐based bike shop for all levels of cyclists. Since the mid‐
Nineties, Taro and Brandon have been avid cyclists and competitive racers. Taro holds undergraduate and
master’s degrees in the areas of Stress and Exercise Physiology and a Ph.D. in Integrative Physiology. His
professional background includes the development of exercise models of rehabilitation as well as product
development and marketing work for various medical and fitness companies. He also conducts research in
the fields of exercise physiology and immunology. Brandon graduated from the University of Colorado with
a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology in 1995 and was a nationally ranked professional mountain bike
racer from 1999 to 2002. Today he ranks as one of the top cyclocross racers in the country and is a 2007
and 2008 U.S. Cyclocross National Champion. With a combined 40 years of pedaling in Boulder, Brandon
and Taro have deep roots and a vast knowledge of Boulder’s cycling community.
