Setting There is no background music but a slight breeze can be heard in the background.
There are two characters speaking to each other. We can hear the sound of a punch
so we know that somebody has been attacked.
The punch sounds like it was created by
somebody recording the sound of somebody
punching through wood using an ambient sound
recorder.
Mood The sound of the speaking suggests a confrontational situation with one character
(Wade) being scared of the other (Trevor). With no background sounds it gives the
impression that the nobody else is around.
The characters voices were recorded in a studio
by real people then added to the game.
Game genre Action – The sound of somebody being punched is quite common in violent action
games.
The second punch sounds like it was also created
by somebody recording the sound of somebody
punching through wood using an ambient sound
recorder.
Narrative The characters speech towards each other suggests a violent scene with one
character being very annoyed and the other being scared.
At the beginning of the cut scene the characters
conversation is calm but as the scene progresses
it gradually becomes more and more
confrontational.
