1. What have you learnt about technologies from
the process of constructing this product?

2. Throughout the construction of my magazine I learnt a
lot about the technologies involved in helping me create
my magazine. I used technologies such as
Photoshop, Prezi, Wordpress, Microsoft
word, Powerpoint, Slideshare, a digital camera and the
mac. All of these technologies enabled me to be able to
create my magazine and I learnt a lot about each one in
the process.
3. The hardware I used in the creation of my magazine was the mac, this was
essential in helping me create my magazine because I made my magazine using
mainly the software Photoshop. The key board and the mouse were also
essential when creating my magazine as this enabled me to placed things
where I wanted and type up cover lines. I found using the mac quite simple.
Another piece of hardware I used was a camera, this enabled me to include
photos in my magazine which I had taken myself. I was already quite familiar
with using a camera because of my photography subject. Therefore I already
new what angles and what lighting I was going to use to take my photos. This
technology helped me a lot In creating my magazine because I needed these
images to be able to attract my target audience and make my magazine more
appealing.

4. SOFTWARE
Photoshop was the main piece of software which enabled me to
create my magazine. I had used Photoshop a fair amount before
for my photography editing so I already knew a bit about it but
there were some things that were new to me. When creating my
magazine at first I found it hard to add my effects to my cover
lines and insert the shapes, but after a while I got the hang of it.
However I also learnt about new tools and how important it was
to make new layers and name these.
Prezi and slideshare were programs I used from the internet to
help me explain my magazine in detail. Prezi was interesting as it
enabled you make a journey from your points, at first I didn’t like
Prezi but after using it a few times I think it is better because it
allows you to express your points in different ways. Slideshare was
also another program I used which was essential because I needed
it to insert my PowerPoint's. This was so it was quicker and easier
to read from my blog and it also looked better.
5. Another thing I used to help me with the the creation of my magazine was by
using Wordpress which I used as my electronic portfolio. By having an
electronic portfolio this enabled me to be able to post my work in progress
which was good because it told you what date you posted it and this also
meant I was less likely to lose it. Also by having an electronic portfolio it
meant I was able to use different technologies which showed my skills, it also
meant I was able to include power points etc. These worked better on the
computer and overall were just better.
Microsoft Power Point and Word were the other two pieces of soft ware I
used, Powerpoint enabled me to express my points. While Microsoft Word was
useful as I used as a spell check when writing my article for the double page
spread and the editors note because it had spell check where as Photoshop
doesn’t.
