2. History The synchronized swimming started in Canada in 1920 and it extended for America in 1930. Many years later, in 1984, it became an Olympic Sport. This sport is like a water ballet and competitors are mostly women.
3. Competitions There are three different types of competitions: individual, in pairs or in group. Each competition is formed by two parts: tecnical exercise and free exercise. There are some obligatory figuries in every championship that every competitor have to develop in a time limit. There are national and international competitions and the biggest championship are the Olympic Games.
4. Star competitor One of the most famous swimmer nowadays is Gemma Mengual, who is the World’s subchampion and she has won a lot of medals and prizes.
