-1Chapter 1. Part 1.

Lightning pounced off the rock, through the dark, night sky. The moon shone down on his unkempt fur.
He landed next to Aqua, who was staring longingly into the shimmering lake.

“Where’s Blaze been, I’m starving.” Lightning’s stomach groaned.

“Off to Viridian Forest, he’s trying to catch us something to eat.” Aqua replied wisely, not turning his
head to face Lightning.

“Well he’s taking his time!” Lightning shouted.

“Lightning…you need to learn to not be so headstrong, Blaze is our best hunter, his mother - the tribe’s
chef - taught him. It’s better he takes longer, and gets us something good, than be quick and get
something vile.” Aqua murmured. He turned around, to look at Lightning. “So how is the Quick Attack
coming along?”

Lightning sighed, “It’s alright, I suppose. The thing is, there’s only so much an Eevee can do. Our
power is very limited. If only we could evolve, it would be a gateway to instant strength.”

“To evolve, you would need either a Fire, Water, or Thunder Stone. Unless you can get your hands on
one, your stuck. I too, wish I could evolve, then I could swim in the beautiful lakes.” Aqua said softly,
staring at the edge of the water.

“I’m sure we’ll come across some stones one day. But there is something more important than that at
the moment.” Lightning said.

“Which is?” Aqua asked.

A sound came from Lightning’s stomach, “Food.”

“I’m back!” a familiar voice shouted from behind them.

Blaze had returned, with a big, dead Rattata in his mouth. “Dig in boys!” he looked at Aqua, “And
girls!”

Part 2.
Lightning ran over to Blaze, and ripped the dead Rattata out of it’s mouth. He snapped off a leg, and
ripped of the skin, revealing a small portion of meat. As he stuffed it in his mouth, Aqua and Blaze
looked at him in disgust.

“I hope you didn’t eat like that when you were still with your father - the ex-tribe leader.” Aqua said.

“No, I didn’t. But I haven’t had a good meal ever since we left the tribe, two days ago.” Lightning
retorted.

“Please, calm down, I’m hungry too, and I’m sure Aqua is. Why don’t we all just sit down and eat.”
Blaze said peacefully.

“Alright…” Lightning muttered. The three Eevees sat around the dead body, snapping off limbs and
thrusting them into their mouths.

“There’s a hint of berry in his legs. Very nice.” Lightning said approvingly.

“Before I came back, I squashed some berries, and smeared the juice over his body.” Blaze replied.
“Glad you like it.”

Aqua had been sitting in silence until now, “Yes…it’s very good.”

“So, where are we heading next Aqua?” Blaze asked.
“Well, at the moment we are just on the outskirts of Viridian City. I think we should hang around in the
city centre for a while. That friendly Pidgey who sometimes speaks to me lives in a nice, dark, little
alley. We could sleep there for the next few days.” Aqua replied.

“Sounds good.” Lightning said. He looked down at the bones scattered across the floor, “Well that
filled me up!”

“Good.” Blaze whispered, “At least we weren’t be hearing anything from your stomach for a while.”

Aqua shushed them. “Something is nearby, we don’t want it to find out we’re here. Be quiet!”

Blaze looked around himself in fear, trying to figure where the thudding of heavy footsteps were
coming from. Lightning jumped off the floor, and ran towards the noise.

“No - don’t!” Aqua whispered, but soon realised that it was no use. Blaze sat next to Aqua in silence.
Suddenly, they heard a loud scream that sounded very much like Lightning.

“We have to help him!” Blaze murmured. He got up, followed by Aqua, and ran after Lightning. Within
a few seconds, they found Lightning - cornered by a group of Pikachu and Raichu. All of them used
Thundershock on Lightning, bathing the area between Lightning and the group in a yellow light.
Lightning crumpled to the floor.

A Raichu spotted Aqua and Blaze.

“This is our camp! If you leave quietly, with your little friend. We won’t hurt you. But if you put up a
fight - well…” the Raichu said menacingly.

“Okay, we’ll go.” Blaze said extremely quickly.

The group walked past them, to where the Eevees had been resting. Aqua and Blaze rested the fainted
Lightning on their backs, and they walked away towards the city gates.
