The first night of hunting I was so nervous. The whole house was on edge. I could tell Mama was upset about me hunting at night. But Papa seemed to be okay with it. ,[object Object]

I was waiting for my dogs to find the trail when I heard my dogs. I ran to see and they were prowling around the drift. I saw the coon and Old Dan whimpered for help. I told them," I not going to help you, and your not going to find him there. ,[object Object]

“ I had always stopped to admire the tree. It was like a king standing tall over his domain.” I looked at my dogs and I said, “Come on. There’s nothing I can do.” ,[object Object]

I promised if they put one in a tree I would do the rest and I’m going to. I’m going to cut you down no matter what!!! ,[object Object]

“ Yes my dogs were not ten feet behind when he ran up there. “ I said, “ I don’t care if it takes me a whole year I’m going to cut down that tree.” Papa said, “ It won’t take that long but I’ll stay here and you can go get some breakfast and come back? ,[object Object],[object Object]

I waited for him to make up his mid and he final came to a decision. “Well alright if that’s the way you want it, I’m for it even if it’s between you and your dogs. ,[object Object],[object Object]

I was so busy with the food I paid no attention to her. After all she was a girl, and girls don’t think like boys do. ,[object Object]

“ I want to see if yours have.” This was too much. I picked up a stick and I started toward her. She started for the house. I would never hit her for anything. ,[object Object]
