This paper aims, a 3D-Pilot Aided Multi-Input Multi-Output Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (MIMO-OFDM) Channel Estimation (CE) for Digital Video Broadcasting -T2 (DVB-T2) for the 5 different proposed block and comb pilot patterns model and performed on different antenna configuration. The effects of multi-transceiver antenna on channel estimation are addressed with different pilot position in frequency, time and the vertical direction of spatial domain framing. This paper first focus on designing of 5-different proposed spatial correlated pilot pattern model with optimization of pilot overhead. Then it demonstrates the performance comparison of Least Square (LS) & Linear Minimum Mean Square Error (LMMSE), two linear channel estimators for 3D-Pilot Aided patterns on different antenna configurations in terms of Bit Error Rate. The simulation results are shown for Rayleigh fading noise channel environments. Also, 3x4 MIMO configuration is recommended as the most suitable configuration in this noise channel environments.

In this paper we propose a new MIMO-OFDM model in which we consider various antenna selection techniques like Bulk selection and Per-subcarrier selection etc. with hardware impairments such as non-linearties of amplifiers, quantization noise, phase noise and I-Q imbalance etc. As we know that the transceiver hardware impairments limit the channel capacity and the energy efficiency of MIMO-OFDM system, so we can not neglect the fundamental impacts of these hardware impairments {Kappa (0.05 0.1)} on the energy efficiency in the high SNR domain. Therefore we analyze the Energy Efficiency of Bulk and Per-subcarrier antenna selection techniques with or without hardware impairments. It has been observed that the energy efficiency decreases as the value of these hardware impairments increases. As we compared the Bulk antenna selection with the Per-subcarrier antenna selection scheme, the Per-subcarrier antenna selection requires more number of RF (radio frequency) chains and transmits power in comparison to the Bulk selection. Due to this, the Bulk antenna selection technique is more energy efficient than Per-subcarrier antenna selection.

In this paper we analyze the performance of 802.15.4 Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) and derive the queue size trade off for different modulation schemes like: Minimum Shift Keying (MSK), Quadrature Amplitude Modulation of 64 bits (QAM_64) and Binary Phase Shift Keying (BPSK) at the radio transmitter of different types of devices in IEEE 802.15.4 for WSN. It is concluded that if queue size at the PAN coordinator of 802.15.4 wireless sensor network is to be taken into consideration then QAM_64 is recommended. Also it has been concluded that if the queue size at the GTS or Non GTS end device is to be considered then BPSK should be preferred. Our results can be used for planning and deploying IEEE 802.15.4 based wireless sensor networks with specific performance demands. Overall it has been revealed that there is trade off for using various modulation schemes in WSN devices.

High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) has achieved si gnificant coding efficiency improvement beyond existing video coding standard by employing several new coding tools. Deblocking Filter, Sample Adaptive Offset (SAO) and Adaptive L oop Filter (ALF) for in-loop filtering are currently introduced for the HEVC standard. However , these filters are implemented in spatial domain despite the fact of temporal correlation wit hin video sequences. To reduce the artifacts and better align object boundaries in video, a prop osed algorithm in in-loop filtering is proposed. The proposed algorithm is implemented in HM-11.0 software. This proposed algorithm allows an average bitrate reduction of ab out 0.7% and improves the PSNR of the decoded frame by 0.05%, 0.30% and 0.35% in luminanc e and chroma.

In this paper, we propose a novel joint semi-blind channel and data estimation technique based on Whitening Rotation (WR) method for Rayleigh flat fading Multiple Input Multiple output (MIMO) channel using different receiver antennas combinations. Here we divide newly proposed technique in three steps. In the first step, we use conventional Whitening Rotation based semi-blind channel estimation technique, where MIMO channel matrix H can be decomposed as H=WQ H . Whitening matrix W can be estimated blindly using second order statistical information of received data and unitary rotation matrix Q can be estimated exclusively using Orthogonal Pilot Maximum Likelihood (OPML) algorithm. In the second step, data symbols can be estimated using estimated channel H and received output data by applying maximum likelihood data estimation method. Finally in the third step, Q can be re-estimated as a Q new using OPML algorithm by considering estimated blind data symbols itself as a pilot symbols for more statistical information of unitary matrix and perform final channel estimation H final=W Q new H . Simulation results are presented under 4-PSK data modulation scheme for two transmitters and different combinations of receiver antennas to support proposed novel technique and they demonstrate improved BER performance compared to conventional WR based optimal technique and Rotation Optimization Maximum Likelihood (ROML) based suboptimal semi-blind channel estimation technique.

The continuous increase in the user demands fornew-generation communication systems, is making the wireless channel more complex and challenging for estimation, developing a simulation model for the channel,and evaluating the performance of different MIMO systems. In this work, a simulation model for multipath fading channels in wireless communication is performed. The model includes a selection of typical Tapped-Delay-Line channel models that can be implemented to reproduce the effects of representative channel distortion and interference. Based on the simulation results, the proposed method exhibits accurate channel estimation performance for frequency-selective fading channels. The proposed work employed LS, MMSE, and ML methods for channel estimation, using 16 and 32 pilots and fixed pilot locations in each frame. Results are obtained for 4x4, 8x8, 16x16, 16x8, and 16x4 MIMO systems and tapped delay line systems.

Beamspace channel estimation mechanism for massive MIMO (multiple input multiple output) antenna system presents a major process to compensate the 5G spectrum challenges caused by the proliferation of information from mobile devices. However, this estimation is required to ensure the perfect channel state information (CSI) for lower amount of Radio Frequency (RF) chains for each beam. In addition, phase shifter (PS) components used in this estimation need high power to select the beam in the desired direction. To overcome these limitations, in this work, we propose Regular Scanning Support Detection (RSSD) based channel estimation mechanism. Moreover, we utilise a 3D lens antenna array having metallic plate and a switch in our model which compensates the limitation of phase shifters. Simulation results show that the proposed RSSD based channel estimation surpasses traditional technique and SD based channel estimation even in lower SNR area which is highly desirable in the millimeter wave (mmWave) massive MIMO systems.

In wireless communication, Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) has been adopted due to its robustness to multipath fading and high data rate transmissions. At the other hand, the performance of OFDM systems severely degraded due to multi-path fading and Doppler frequency shifts in mobile systems, which causes inter-carrier-interference (ICI). Thus, Estimation of channel parameters is required at the receiver using a pre designed estimator where pilot tones are inserted in each OFDM symbol. In this paper, a random pilot data are generated and inserted in each OFDM symbol at equally spaced locations. The performance test of Least Square (LS) and Linear Minimum Mean Square (LMMSE) estimation methods are proposed with Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT) based on both LS and LMMSE, where different ITU channel models are considered in order to compare their performance for data transmission in high mobile systems with different Doppler frequencies exceeds 200 Hz and minimal number of pilots.
