Denise Guerin attended elementary school in 1961 and high school in 1974. When she was in kindergarten, students only needed a box of crayons, while in high school they got electric typewriters. When she went to college in the 1970s, terms like "mouse", "monitor", and "disc" had different meanings than today. She hopes to see more educational technology used with students after retiring.

6. High School Technology In high school we got electric typewriters!! They even had a repeating dot, dot, dot feature!!! No, neither correction tape nor white out were invented yet. How did you erase?

7. College Technology A mouse was something that ate cheese. A monitor was someone who checked to see if you should be getting in trouble. A disc was something in your spine (I don’t think they were in car brakes yet). A driver was someone who took you from place in a car or a bus. But we had CALCULATORS that could do FOUR things: add, subtract, multiply AND divide!
