My application for the student exchange with arroyo grande high school
1. My application for the student exchange with Arroyo Grande High School, California 2010
First of all my argumentation about Why me?, I’d like to shortly introduce myself. My name is Sophie I’m almost 17 and currently in the 10th grade of our school. When I’m not taking photographs I’m listening to music or I’m singing and writing songs to play them with my band.
As I am a quite unsophisticated and open minded person I can quickly adjust to new surroundings and I enjoy meeting new people and getting to know new cultures. I’ve already been in the UK and Sweden on my own for each one week, and it was a great experience for me because I got to know many different people from all over the world and learned what it means to be self-dependent.
What fascinates me about the USA is their way to life and their creativity in music, movies and inventions. It has always been a country of great importance for me, but unfortunately I’d never had the chance to go there by now. I think that this student exchange is a chance for me to get a “real life” impression of a great and powerful country as well as meeting new people and see what it’s like living in the USA. I’d also enjoy showing my exchange partner my unique home state, upper Bavaria, as I love it. The wonderful landscapes, my favorite sights in Munich and surrounding area and some of my insiders’ tips would be part of my guided tours. I think they’d also enjoy living in my house as much as I do, because with my family it’s never boring and they get along with nearly everyone. As every travel changes you in a different way, I’m sure that the exchange would be an unforgettable time for me. Both the good and the bad happenings make you a bit wiser and more grown up.
