  3. DQI is a process applied by people working together in workshops People work together in order to share experiences, debate options and make decisions. Because it is applied in groups it requires someone to drive it, from the client, we call this person the DQI leader. It also requires someone to help everyone reach their potential and get the most out of the process, we call this person the DQI leader.
  4. S0 how does DQI work in this workshop environment? Well, any workshop has a role to fulfil – with DQI this is about establish and checking design options. By we want to give a group a topic and reach a conclusion. [click] Ideally, as project managers we’d like this process to the linear – so everyone agrees with decisions as they are made
  5. However, this would have the effect of stifling debate. [click] What we actually want groups to do, and this is the role of facilitator, is encourage debate and ideas. [click] We call this process divergent group thinking However, at some point we need to bring this debate back, we need to reach some conclusion.
