1. A survey was conducted of 1,664 voters in Kalinga province to understand their preferences and satisfaction levels for the 2010 elections.
2. The survey found high satisfaction ratings for the incumbent Congressman and Governor between 60-88%, but also that some voters may be open to accepting money in exchange for votes.
3. The results provide insight into how voters may decide in the upcoming elections and help candidates understand where to focus their campaign efforts.

BACKGROUNDER Considering that 2010 is an election year, the Kalinga Media Club (KAMEC), the Department of Interior and Local Government, and Liga ng mga Barangays have resolved to conduct a survey to sample the perceptions of the voting public, as well as project their behavior this coming election period.
4. This survey principally aims to describe voting behavior, views and opinions of the Kalinga electorate in various election processes and election practices.

The trend clearly indicates that the voting public has a good grasp on election laws – with the greatest gap exhibited by their responses to Provision 4 which covers the acceptance of money in exchange of votes.
