Spanish 2 – grades 9-11
Topic: Reflexive verbs and vocabulary
Technology required: computer. Internet connection, microphone
Standards –
Curriculum – Standard 1.3 Communication: Students present information, concepts, and
ideas to an audience of listeners or readers on a variety of topics. Mode of communication:
Presentational
Technology – NETS Standard 1. Creativity and Innovation a. apply existing knowledge
to generate new ideas, products, or processes. b. create original works as a means of personal or
group expression.
Objectives – I can bring together my knowledge of reflexive verbs and vocabulary by writing a
short composition and presenting it to the class orally.
Activities –
Warm Up – Three questions are projected on the board that relate to reflexive verbs and
vocabulary from the previous class. Students answer them upon entering the classroom. We
will then go over the answers as a class.
Formative assessment – quiz - Socrative.com – Student will log on to Socrative.com and take a
10 question quiz related to reflexives and vocabulary that will be on their test. The scores are
compiled into a spreadsheet. I will use this formative assessment to be sure that students
understand the basic concepts of the lesson. If certain questions are missed by multiple students,
I can then adjust my lesson the next day to review the information.
Project - Student will be given the following instructions.
Proyecto final de lección 7 – Las instrucciones
Tienes que escribir un texto sobre tu rutina por la mañana con 15 palabras (o más) de la lista de
vocabulario. Tienes que usar una combinación de verbos y sustantivos de la lista. Vas a
presentar el texto a la clase. Tienes dos opciones de presentación. 1. Dar la presentación en
vivo (live). 2. Usar el sitio web Blabberize.com para crear una presentación y compartir la
presentación con la clase.
They are to write a short composition on their morning routine using at least 15 words from their
vocabulary list. They must use a combination of verbs and nouns from the list. Once written,
students will present the text to their classmates in one of two ways. They may give a live
presentation or they can use the website Blabberize.com to create a presentation that will be
played in class. They will be given the following instructions if they prefer to use Blabberize.
Blabberize Instructions
1. Find a picture or photo you want to use.
2. Go to blabberize.com
3. Select Make
4. Upload your image
5. Crop your picture if necessary
6. Shape your mouth
7. Record your voice
8. Save your creation!

Differentiation – The information I obtain from the Socrative assessment will allow me to meet
the differing needs of students. The option of presentation styles allows students to use their
strengths. For students that have a hard time speaking in front of their peers and like to practice
until they get it right, the Blabberize option is a great fit.
Technology alternatives – If technology fails, students could take the quiz by writing their
answers on paper. This would not give me as the teacher the easily created spreadsheet to see
overall performance. If students do not want to use Blabberize, they are welcome to do a
traditional live presentation in front of their peers.

Curricular Integration Project - Lesson plan

  • 1. Curricular Integration Project – Lesson – EDT 627 Haley Barrette Spanish 2 – grades 9-11 Topic: Reflexive verbs and vocabulary Technology required: computer. Internet connection, microphone Standards – Curriculum – Standard 1.3 Communication: Students present information, concepts, and ideas to an audience of listeners or readers on a variety of topics. Mode of communication: Presentational Technology – NETS Standard 1. Creativity and Innovation a. apply existing knowledge to generate new ideas, products, or processes. b. create original works as a means of personal or group expression. Objectives – I can bring together my knowledge of reflexive verbs and vocabulary by writing a short composition and presenting it to the class orally. Activities – Warm Up – Three questions are projected on the board that relate to reflexive verbs and vocabulary from the previous class. Students answer them upon entering the classroom. We will then go over the answers as a class. Formative assessment – quiz - Socrative.com – Student will log on to Socrative.com and take a 10 question quiz related to reflexives and vocabulary that will be on their test. The scores are compiled into a spreadsheet. I will use this formative assessment to be sure that students understand the basic concepts of the lesson. If certain questions are missed by multiple students, I can then adjust my lesson the next day to review the information. Project - Student will be given the following instructions. They are to write a short composition on their morning routine using at least 15 words from their vocabulary list. They must use a combination of verbs and nouns from the list. Once written, students will present the text to their classmates in one of two ways. They may give a live presentation or they can use the website Blabberize.com to create a presentation that will be played in class. They will be given the following instructions if they prefer to use Blabberize.
  • 2. Blabberize Instructions 1. Find a picture or photo you want to use. 2. Go to blabberize.com 3. Select Make 4. Upload your image 5. Crop your picture if necessary 6. Shape your mouth 7. Record your voice 8. Save your creation! Evaluation/assessment – Final presentation , rubric - 5 4 3 2 1 comentarios Vocabulario Usa 15 o más palabras Usa 10 palabras Usa menos de 5 palabras Fluidez de hablar Presenta el texto de memoria Buena fluidez en la mitad Lee directament el texto Conj. verbos reflexivos Conjuga bien 15 o más verbos Conjuga bien 10 verbos Conjuga bien menos de 3 verbos Presentación y estructura Tiene confianza y comprende sin problemas Tiene unos problemas de estructura o no comprende parte Es difícil entender o tiene mala estructura. Nota: ____/20 pts Differentiation – The information I obtain from the Socrative assessment will allow me to meet the differing needs of students. The option of presentation styles allows students to use their strengths. For students that have a hard time speaking in front of their peers and like to practice until they get it right, the Blabberize option is a great fit. Technology alternatives – If technology fails, students could take the quiz by writing their answers on paper. This would not give me as the teacher the easily created spreadsheet to see
