3. The results show ‘Hip-Hop’ to be the most favourite genre of music. However I feel that I am going to go with the genre of ‘indie’ as I have a lot more personal knowledge on that particular genre, in contrast to hip-hop and would therefore be able to portray that better across the magazine. The results show that the main content that readers want to find, are interviews facts and information. Therefore I will include interviews with artists and a high quantity of facts and information on different artists, gigs and the current chart lists I conducted a questionnaire. The questionnaire was placed on a range of people from my target audience, so that I could see what appealed to them the most and would therefore, ultimately make my magazine a success. 6. I chose to add words such as ‘Latest’ to appeal to my target audience as I felt this would cause the magazine to appear very current and therefore much more appealing as the readers will want to be up to date with recent music news. I chose the word ‘introducing’ so that it would enhance the idea of the artist on the cover being the latest artist in the business; possibly someone to know about. Appealing to readers once again. I tried to include words such as ‘bagged’; slang words, that are commonly used in my target audience, in an aim to appeal to them as they can relate.
7. I asked my model to always look directly at the camera as this creates direct address. I did this in an aim to appeal to the audience, as it makes me the magazine become much more individual; as if the magazine is directly aimed at the reader. I also used direct words. Words such as ‘You’ this was an aim for the writing to ‘speak’ directly to the reader. Similar to the direct address of the main image. I used words such as ‘NEED’, ‘RIGHT NOW’ in an aim to attract my audience by creating an appeal of things they may want. I also printed these words in capital letters and a slightly larger font to cause them to stand out above other pieces of text, stand out on the page and therefore attract readers.
8. I tried to include information on other popular indie pop artists that would hopefully appeal to my audience also. Artists such as ‘Jason Mraz’ and ‘Ellie Goulding’ therefore readers would have more reasons to ultimately purchase and enjoy the magazine. I also tried to include information that would appeal to readers. Such as ‘tour dates’ and ‘new albums’
9. I included articles and information that would appeal to readers. Articles such as interviews, and information such as gig information, tour dates and reviews. I tried to show information such as ‘New Single’ and the name of the single itself to attract audiences to find out more.
10. Although quotes are a typical connotation of a music magazine, I used it as a way too appeal to readers by quoting the interview, in a way to make them want to know more regarding this quote. I chose to include a question ‘What’s next for this new Superstar?’ in an aim for the readers to what to find out more. I included a variety of questions within my interview to try to capture a range of information; information I aimed to attract/appeal to readers.
