diverse features, editorials, and
advertising. It usually is printed on
relatively inexpensive, low-grade paper
such as newsprint.
2. Size, shape and structure.
• By 2007, there were 6,580 daily newspapers in
the world selling 395 million copies a day. The
late 2000s-early 2010s global recession,
combined with the rapid growth of web-based
alternatives, caused a serious decline in
advertising and circulation, as many papers
closed or sharply retrenched operations.[1]

• The Daily Mail is a British daily middle-
market tabloid newspaper owned by the Daily
Mail and General Trust, it was First published in
1896 by Lord Northcliffe. Daily mail is United
Kingdom's second biggest-selling daily newspaper
after The Sun.

magazine publisher. It is Britain's biggest
newspaper group. Its owned by by Alfred
Harmsworth, The company was first listed on
the London Stock Exchange on 2 December
1953.[4]

8. What other industries is the press
linked to.
• The press is linked to photography and photo
imaging, most newspapers have pictures on
their covers or their adverts and most stories
have pictures to support their evidence. That’s
when advertising industry comes in to it
because the newspapers have adverts and
they advertise many different brands in the
newspapers
9. Impact of technology
• The press is worried because people are not
buying news papers and are going online to get
all the information they need and don’t have to
pay for it. There are many apps that you could get
for free which delivers almost immediately, some
news paper's started to charge for their online
content such as The Sun, is to start charging for
its online content in the second half of 2013 as
part of a radical shift in thinking about readers
getting its journalism for free.
