2. Position Seeking As of July 2010, until December 2010: I am seeking non-paid work experience positions for approximately 100 plus hours in the tourism, marketing and events industry. Areas of interest include marketing, management, planning and policy, event co-ordination, customer relations and innovative production and service processes.
3. Career Goals Short - Term My short term career goal is to familiarise myself with the tourism and marketing business industries. It is during this stage of my career that I wish to increase my skill level, increase my network capacity, broaden my knowledge and gain valuable experience in these industries. Long – Term My long term career goal is to work for an organisation where I will be a part of the management team or where I will run my own business. I would like to work in areas of strategic marketing, destination marketing, tourism policy and planning and consultating.

7. Educational Experiences March– May 2010 Rolling Surf Resort, Caloundra My partner and I prepared a business proposal about the organisation using social media (Facebook) as an e-marketing tool. The proposal was followed with the coordination of a social media site and evaluating its use. The final task involved preparing a management and marketing plan for its future use. April 2010Caloundra Chamber of Commerce I assisted with preperations for their Networking evening. Assistance came from evaluating the layout of the evening, preparing collatoral for members, consideration about the running of the evening, welcome and farewell of members and preperation and serving of food.
8. Volunteer Experiences June 2010Event Volunteer at the Musto Etchells Australasian Championships Assisted the Event Co-ordinator in preperations following the days’ competitive events. Over four days, I was involved in office administration, selling event merchandise and welcoming the attendees to the social events. 2008 Student Mentor, University of the Sunshine Coast In 2008, I was a student mentor for two semesters with the University. The role involved helping new students to become familiar with university life and the campus. I was committed to making contact with the students once a week via email and in various weeks, be available to meet with them.
9. Achievements Top 4 finalist of the Queensland Business Icon Competition for 2010 (July) Over one week, I undertook the Business Icon Competition and was involved in planning and assisting a fashion show, selling event tickets and receiving donations, preparing a marketing campaign, preparing an implementation plan, preparing a communications campaign including the creative concept, market research and preparing a business proposal including a business model. From 150 contestants, I finished the competition as a top four finalist.
10. Achievements Commendation by the Dean of Business for academic excellence in Semester 2, 2009. Subject areas were: Policy and Planning: Tourism and Leisure, Sport and Event Marketing, Event Management and Ecotourism.
