The tourism industry in Rajasthan has grown exponentially over the past 30 years, with tourist arrivals increasing four-fold. Tourism generates significant revenue and employment for the state, contributing over Rs. 2000 crores and employing 0.1 million directly and 0.3 million indirectly. However, tourism also places pressures on local infrastructure and can increase prices and create economic dependence for some communities. Both central and state governments have implemented various incentives to promote tourism development, including tax exemptions, loans, and simplifying land use rules, while also attempting to preserve local culture and handicrafts. Overall, tourism has become a major economic driver for Rajasthan but continues to face challenges from issues like seasonal jobs and leakage of tourism spending outside
