5. Bob Ferrari
He have been fortunate to spend the last 15 years of his
life climbing in one of the most pristine climbing areas in
the Northeast, the Shawangunk mountain range. For the
last five years he have been working as a guide for one
of the most established guide services in the area, High
Angle Adventures which has been in business since
1974.
6. Sue Kligerman – LEAD GUIDE
Sue Kligerman was in the military from 1983 through1987.
She served in the Army, 101st Airborne, Air assault. She
was a full-time Rock Climbing guide in the Gunks for many
years.She spent her winters guiding in El Potrero Chico,
Mexico. She is one of the few women AMGA certified
Level 1 Rock Instructors.
7. Bob Hostetter
He started climbing in 1984 after enrolling in a Phys Ed
course at a local Community College,and was introduced
to this unique mode of existence by Rosie Andrews and
Rich Goldstone, who were his guides that weekend. Soon
thereafter he relocated to Gardiner, NY to continue his
education at the Shawangunk Hard Rock University.
8. Peter Guyre
He started climbing in 1999 while he was studying in
Argentina. He is an AMGA certified single pitch instructor,
PCGI certified lead guide and have a rescue certification
from the PCGI. He continue to seek further certifications
and educational experiences relating to work, play, and life
in the mountains.
9. Andrew Reed
Andrew started climbing in the mid 1970s. He is AMGA
SPI certified and has extensive climbing experience in
the Shawangunks NY as well as many other locations in
North America, Mexico, and Europe.
10. Tom Chervenak
He is a licensed NYS climbing instructor who also holds a
Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, along with a NYS Teacher
Certification. He has been a guide with HighXposure for
three years, and has been living and climbing in the
Shawangunk Ridge area since 2001. He has extensive
knowledge of countless area classics and hidden gems of
all styles and difficulty.
11. Naomi Wielgos
She has been climbing since 1994. She has climbed
extensively in North America and Asia and has for the past
several years taken up ice climbing in the northeast with a
passion. She currently holds a NYSDEC License to Guide,
AMGA Certified Single Pitch Instructor, Wilderness First
Responder/CPR, and NYS Registered Nurse.
12. Dave Leahy
He lives in New Paltz, and has been climbing for 10 years.
He is an N.Y.S. liscensed guide, and a volunteer on the
Hudson Valley Mountain Rescue team. He is Red cross First
Aid and C.P.R. certified, a formerly certified N.Y.S. E.M.T..
He is also a former U.S. Army combat medic and rappeling
instructor, has 12+ years of extentsive martial arts training,
is a martial arts instructor, and an AMGA Rock Instructor
Course Graduate.
13. Eric DeBergh
He is a New York native whose first introduction to rock
climbing was in the Gunks at the age of 12 with his father.
His professional guiding career began in 2000, and
includes work experience in rock, alpine, and ice climbing
terrain from Washington State to New Hampshire. Eric
facilitates our AMGA climbing instructor programs via
High Xposure’s partnership with his company, Certified
Climbing Instructor.
