2. ‣ In the installer choose Desktop Express
Install and select QGIS to install
Quantum GIS.
‣ The OSGeo4W repository contains a lot
of software from OSGeo projects. QGIS
and all dependencies are included,
along with Python, GRASS, GDAL, etc.

3. For Mac users
http://www.kyngchaos.com/software/qgis
‣ Before installing QGIS 1.8.0, install
GDAL Complete 1.9 framework package
and GSL framework in advance.
‣ If you don’t use OS 10.6 or later, check
older QGIS version as follows.

4. • Debian series
# sudo apt-get install qgis
• Red Hat series
# yum install qgis
For Linux users
LaunchTerminal
and command as follows.

5. After installing QGIS,
check that QGIS are working.
• Start QGIS and a window will open as follows.
