My Thoughts On Writing And Writing
Just like the writing I am forcing from my thoughts right now, writing in general is a difficult
process for me to transfer from my mind to paper. I have found that when I write I tend to be very
repetitive by saying the same thing in a different way over and over. I believe that my repetition
is derived from trying to be too complex in the development of how I write. Some additional
problems I come across in developing my rhetoric are concentrating; as my focus can be easily
drawn away from the current topic at hand. I believe that it may be a short intention span or maybe
even lack of understanding toward a certain topic such as the current one about writing
developments. I struggle with my ability to form complete thoughts without jumping topics or
merging each thought into one another. In retrospect to the problems I have come to face with my
writing I do have many things I enjoy about writing. Writing to me is a way to be descriptive and
creative with my own thoughts depending upon the style of course, but for the most part it is
intriguing because everything that I will do in life will require me to have some set of writing
skills. With the following in mind my essay writing process is developed from these aspects. My
writing process will start by forming ideas in my head. Usually I don't like to write these ideas and
thoughts down because I don't feel they are very developed therefore not worth the time it would
take to plan them out on paper. This is especially true

My Writing Journey
Writing Journey Have you ever been given an assignment where you say to yourself, "how the
heck am I going to do this?" or maybe, "what am I supposed to write about?" Well that's exactly
how I felt, thought, and did with this writing journey. Coming up with something to say about my
writing journey has been difficult. I would be bold enough to say nearly impossible. So impossible
it's like trying to get a camel through the eye of a needle. Okay that might be an exaggeration, but it
has been difficult. The idea that I have a writing journey I understand. But thinking of an event or
something that has made my writing the way it is has been difficult. So, what I've decided to do
then is to write about my writing journey writing this paper. It all started the morning of August 22,
2017. I don't remember what the weather was, or even what I had for breakfast. But I do
remember wondering how to get to the Metro Campus of Tulsa Community College or TCC for
short. I had never been there before so it was a whole new place to me. Honestly because it was a
new place I was a little worried about it. But I managed to make it there and on time to class. Class,
English 0933, or better known as Writing Foundations. It was an interesting first class session with
Dr. Dewayne Dickson. At this point I don't even remember what was taught that first time. I'm sure it
was the Syllabus. But the first thing he did was have us write about our "writing journey."
It took me a bit

How My Writing Changed
The last time i wrote an essay or any academic writing was when i was in high school. Aside that
te only writing i ave been involved in was for job application for in which i have already prepared.
My writing has improved so much. MY vocabulary, how to start and introduction, how to write the
body, how to conclude has all changed. I have learn summarizing my essays 250–300 words and I
have I tackle each assignmenet with different pespective and it should come from me without any
plagiarism. This is the first time my writings has to be free from plagiarism as it is not taken

My Essay Writing Analysis
Throughout my years of English class, essay writing has always been one of my weakest points.
Putting my thoughts onto a piece of paper is easy, but it is the process of reforming my thoughts
and conveying them properly that is difficult to do. The most difficult type of essay for me is
argumentative. I find good quotes that are relative to the topic and incorporate them into my essay
well. However, when writing, analysis and syntax is where I am the most lacking. When writing, I
believe my strengths are my abilities to stay on topic and provide relevant quotes. As I read the
passage(s) that go along with the essay, I read thoroughly; therefore, I can find quotes within the
passage(s) that bolster the argument. As I write the essay, I stay

I Am Confident For My Writing
Writing has never been my strong suit so I understood why I had been placed into EWRT 211.
Before this class I had not written an essay since I was a junior in high school (six years ago). I
have always struggled with writing, but it was not until my first diagnostic essay that I realized how
terrible my writing skills were. Everything about the diagnostic essay screamed that I did not know
what I was doing. Since then, I have noticed a vast improvement in my writing. This class has
taught me how to become a better writer by creating stronger theses and by knowing why rough
drafts are important to writing. Nevertheless, I still need to develop better strategies to manage my
writing. I chose my essays, What Influences Teens To Become Adults and Resilience Among College
Students, because they demonstrate my growth throughout this class. Even though I still need to
improve on managing my writing, I am confident in moving to EWRT 1A because I have learned
how to create strong theses, and how rough drafts have a great impact on my writing.
Without a strong thesis an essay falls apart and fails to let the reader know what they are trying to
say. For instance, in my rough draft Stop of Reality my thesis was very vague and did not meet the
requirements for the essay. It stated, "Although the injustice that these [Native American] women
face still continue to this day, the women these three tribes face...will slowly begin to see justice for
the crimes that were committed upon them"

My Writing Experience
Reading and writing has always created a sense of understanding for me in my art. Reading in the
literal sense is a way that we understand text or symbols in our minds which in turn create meaning.
Writing also in a literal sense is our way of communicating our knowledge and emotions to others
through symbols in text. The human experience for all people includes communication and through
reading and writing this experience is created. From the beginning of this course, my only prior
experience with reading and writing were high school level course over literature and reading. I had
an average level of rhetoric, reading, writing and language overall however, understanding the
significance of these subjects was never put forth in such a way until I took this course. I discovered
through this course that reading is a combination of not only our "visual information" but also our
"nonvisual information". My comprehension of reading has evolved from reading...show more

I feel that organization is both a strength and a weakness in my writing. Free writing is something
that helped me gain a better sense of my ideas and through this I was able to create more structured
ideas. However, the formation of a structurally sound essay that contains writing that flows was
extremely difficult for myself. Fluidity was a challenge throughout my time in this course, but is
was also something that created a better voice in my writing. The understanding of reading and
writing in this course was extremely meaningful for me and made a huge impact on my writing
overall. Writing motivates me and inspires me in my own work to create stories and share with
others what I feel is memorable and should be shared. Although it may never be something perfect,
writing is something I wish to continue improving on and creating in order to share with

Essay on Writing Experience
My Writing Experiences My experiences in writing have been minimal. I have only learned the
basics of writing, like putting together sentences, forming paragraphs with sentences, and things
like that. Since I have been taking college English, I can tell my writing has improved a lot. In the
future, I hope to be able to improve tremendously at writing essays, paragraphs, research papers,
documents, and stories so that I have very little to no errors with drafting and final products. I
predict I will be a well rounded writer when I graduate from college. Writing in the past started in
kindergarten. My teacher taught me how to write my name over and over until I could write it with
no errors. All through elementary my teachers taught me...show more content...
I need to learn to quit thinking as much on what I want to write about and how to write about a topic
and just starting jotting stuff down in outline form as it comes to mind. Run–ons and fragments I
need to be able to spot and fix right away or I really need to not have any in my papers at all. My
goals are to write papers and not have to reassure myself that maybe I need to do more research or
have more data or even have to rethink my whole topic over. I would love to have the knowledge
to be a tutor someday and teach other people how to properly write papers, paragraphs, essays,
and maybe even books. To have excellent skills in writing will definitely be a great advantage in
my nursing profession. In nursing, I will have to do lots of charting on my patients. I will have to
do health presentations on various subjects such as exercising, how our society eats, and sex
education if I want to be a course instructor. Researching information on all of those topics I will
have to make sure I do an excellent job on and collect accurate information and statistics so that I
can compare to other sources. Dictating to the doctor means that I will need to write properly so
that he understands what I am saying. Other nurses will have to be able to understand what I am
talking about by my writing skills when doing shift changes. I will have to be very precise so that
other nurses will not

My Reflective Essay Writing
Before this semester, my essay writing would have been considered rather poor. This was because I
did not understand the various components of a properly written and accompany them to effectively
communicate my ideas. I lacked the most in keeping the audience involved hence, catching and
maintaining their attention, to my writing from the introduction to the conclusion. To me, writing
was more complicated than a speech since a speech involved direct audience who the speaker can
gauge their feelings. I took writing as a difficult task since it involved indirect audience and
ensuring that I meet the demands of such indirect audience, brought more confusion. Though the
case, this past semester's class has really improved my skills in writing. I have learned to to make
an effective written piece. Through the various learning experiences such as individual readings,
professional feedback and many others, I have been able to interact with diverse knowledge
sources which have made me much better by removing the confusion and negative picture I had
with regard to writing. The first area of my improvement is on the organization skills which I have
gained, enabling me to develop an excellent structure for my essays. In my first essays, I was
struggling to build an introduction that would not only be clear to the readers but also cultivate their
interest to read the rest of the article. My introduction thus appeared ambiguous and was very
general as from the feedback I would regularly obtain from my Instructor. Through engaging in
regular essay writing, this has really changed. This is evident in my cause and effect essay where I
was able to introduce the easy with a personal history of the perception of the people with regard to
the water they took 'At home, people subconsciously believe that the water they drink, wash clothes
with and bathe in is clean' (Kulhahay 1, par. 1)
. I was able to place the audience to the issue I was addressing by giving their general view on how
they treat water contamination which was the subject of my writing. In this easy I was able to
introduce the readers to the controversy that had me to write the paper i.e. both leaving the water
untreated and treating it is a challenge as in

My Writing Essay
My Writing
In the past four years, I have written many papers for various classes, enjoying some and others
having to choke out words to write down. In this memo I will describe my writing projects and
how they made me become a better writer, and how they will continue to help develop me into a
becoming a more prosperous writer.
What I Really Learned in English 100
Well as a recent pupil of the Great McFadden I want to do all that I can to be on his good side, for he
said that if I go one mile to meet him, he will go two miles to meet me, which seems more that fair.

Having taken many writing classes I have learned many things about writing. I enjoy writing and
can often write many pages about things that I am interested in. I know that I have more learning to
do about writing, and hopefully in the next couple weeks my knowledge of writing will have
expanded and my writing will have improved.
My Experience With Writing Arguments
I am unaware of any writing arguments. The only thing I can really think of is writing a research
paper with the intent to change people's minds on a certain subject. I remember researching for
weeks in the library, looking through magazine after magazine. I had searched for enough
information to write a ten–page paper. The writing process of the paper took several weeks but
when I had finished, all the hard work was worth the effort. I learned many things from that course
such as that you need to search for all the information you can because it is better to have too much
information than not enough. Also that course taught me many things about making references to
the authors of the articles I used for my paper. I remember writing out note card after note card and
keeping all the necessary information about each book or magazine. That course taught me to
become a better writer and to respect how much detail really goes into a research paper like I had
written. Other than that, I have not really had much experience in

My Experience In English Writing
English is a core concept in the Untied States and other countries that has allowed inviduals to
advance their knowledge. Not only does English provide an advancement in knowlege, but has
created a way for individuals to share their thoughts and feelings through writing. Which is why
English is one of the four subjects that is required to be taught in almost every school district in
America including mine. I began taking English from a young age which allowed me to take
advanced placement English IV my senior year at Tupelo High School. Advanced Placement English
IV allowed me to further my education in writing, which in return allowed me to overcome
obstacles, low points and discover strengths I never knew I had. Like any other thing in life there
are always obstacles individuals face everyday, for me in my English IV class writing was
something that was very challenging. The first challenge writing presented to me was trying to
organize all of my thoughts, so that it made sense. The first essay I ever wrote in my English class
was a journal entry about a memorable experience, so with that being said I decided I would write
about the experience I had while hunting with my Dad. The hunting experience with my dad had
many different parts, and one of my biggest challenges I had was organizing my thoughts, so that it
flowed correctly. Since I was telling a story within my journal I realized that I was jumping around
more then I should have and this became a problem. I learned

Writing is way that we can express ourselves, it is a way to interface ideas and thoughts and to
prove a point. Throughout my writing experience or process I have struggled with writing
especially using details or really expressing myself my work. In this course Facts & Fiction: Portraits
in World Art I expect to gain more knowledge on how to write a perfectessay, story, letter, and
assignment. I expect to learn new genres and rhetorical situations. I also think my writing will
improve academically and I will develop my skills in writing. Also taking my writing to a different
point of view, level, and writing something different rather than the usual. I look forward to getting
feedback from my peers and learning their thoughts on my writing and how they can help me
improve.
Reading and writing were two things my parents use to always push me to improve and work on
more often. They always told me they are the essentials of everything thing. Even though I
disliked both at a young age as I grew older I preferred writing because I can always change the
way I write and write from my point of view, really be creative with it and prove my point.
Growing up I always loved writing short stories especially scary stories. I always was creative
with them and even made them realistic. To write an essay I usually have a couple of steps
writing an outline, and the thesis a draft and finally a final draft. The most difficult part about this
is writing the thesis because the whole essay revolves the thesis because it summarizes the whole
essay. At the end of some essays, I had to use citations to do that there were many websites that
helped me cite sources such as easybib which was a really simple process. So, citing sources was
one of the easiest things about writing the essay.
Writing to a teacher is way more complex then writing to a fried or a family member. Writing to a
teacher is way more complex, I must make sure that everything is on point or it reaches the state of
protection. Which is having the right format, a great thesis and really conveying the point of the
essay. Writing to a friend or a family member is much easier I usually don't focus on grammatic
errors or writing a perfect thesis. Today some of us don't

How My Writing Has Changed Essay
My writing styles have changed drastically over the past four years of high school. This memo will
explain how my writing has changed and how my knowledge of writing has improved.
Aspects of My Writing during High School
During my English courses throughout high school, I learned many things from writing simple
journals, research papers, and a single term paper. During high school, I was laid back and
procrastinated for much of my work. During the latter part of high school when I wrote my term
paper my senior year, I found out that working a little every night writing a few paragraphs helped
me out greatly. I was not just throwing something together just to get the grade and the paper
finished. I spent time on the paper and...show more content...
I do this so the information is true, and also in order from which events have occurred. When I
wrote my term paper my senior year I was well organized. I was required to write about an event
in history. I chose India Uprising of 1877 as the topic of my paper. This topic was not interesting at
all, but I chose to write about it. When I finished writing my thesis and outline, I wrote note cards
about the different topics, which allowed me to gather all my information and organize it in which
different events occurred. When I was finished with the paper, it sounded and read consistently and it
all flowed together.
How These Experiences Prepared Me for College Writing
I have written many different types of papers for all of my classes throughout high school. For
my science classes, I have written several labs in the form of essays. Writing the essays was
different for me because I did not really know that science had much to do with writing. It took me
a while to gather all the information I needed to finish my lab assignments. Writing lab reports will
definitely help me in my science courses in the next four years.
The journals I have written came from my four years of high school English. Everyday I came to
class there would be a topic on the board. I took five minutes each day to write about the given
topic. It was brainstorming and giving our input on whatever the topic was. I think

My Writing As A Career
Writing is not a profession for me, it's more like a path to reach Zen. I'm a budding creative writer
who focusses on coming up with meaningful contents which can help my readers in some way or
the other. So, needless to say, I don't do crappy jobs at all.
I am an avid reader and like to see the historical side of stories to have an understanding of the
vastness of wisdom, so that some day, my wisdom could be reflected through the pages of my writing
.
See how dreamy my writing looks ? Don't worry , tell me who your target audience are and I can
tailor the story accordingly. But at least when we talk, lets keep the dreamy side up and create
something meaningful and beautiful.

Reflection On My English 101 Experience
Reflecting on My English 101 Experience I used to consider writing as tumble words from your
mind, write, read it through, fix minor mistakes, and done. However, you rarely get successful. The
truth is many students, including myself, struggle with starting to write a word, or getting stuck in
the middle without knowing the main point of the writing. After completing English 101, I can
explain the writing process, evaluate the strengths of my essay, and identify my weaknesses.
Throughout English 101, I learned that the following the writing process was imperative. Before
taking this class, I use to always skip the pre–writing step considering that it is just an easy and
unnecessary step. Consequently, I struggled to figure how to start writing, and most importantly I
struggled to figure out the main point while writing the draft. And then I finish the first draft close to
the deadline that I do not have time to read it not to mention revising. It was after I started this class
that learned that pre–writing is vital, and requires time and attention as it holds the base of the
whole writing. My professor used different analogies such as blueprint for building and map for
navigation to explain the importance. It really speeded up my writing after I started to utilize it. I
have learned outlining before, but part of the pre–writing that I was fortunate enough to learning in
English 101 is the writing triangle. Even before outlining, the topic, purpose, and audience of the

Write An Essay About My Writing Style
When I'm starting to write, it seems there are always distractions, e.g. my Dad has the TV on
loud, the dogs are barking, etc. It's difficult to focus, and makes it next to impossible for me to
concentrate on the task at hand and carry out what I have set out to do. So, the first thing I do is
clear my brain. Sometimes I will wear headphones and play some gentle new age music, quiet to
the point where I almost don't hear it, to enter a state allowing for clear thinking. Once I'm there, I
mentally brainstorm possible topics, write down the ones I have the strongest concepts for, and
then narrow down the choices until I am left with the few speaking to me. The next step is to draft
an outline for each, unless I have already chosen one specific one, and figure out whether I have
enough ideas on the topic(s) to compose a full–length written piece. It usually helps narrow the field
down to one, although there have been times I had to stop and decide if maybe there was better
subject matter out there I hadn't considered yet. Once I have chosen my topic and outline, work on
the first draft begins. It is usually then...show more content...
From my perspective, there is no single way to do it. Outlines can take many forms, which I know
only too well as I have already tried a few. Some people gravitate to the Chapter and Sub–Chapter
style, while others use bullet points they can adjust. The choices are many. I am doing a memoir
project, and have figured out I may actually join several different outline styles. After many outline
attempts, what I call trial and error, I decided my piece needed to start with something akin to a
bang, something to draw the readers' attention so much they want to read further to find out what
was going on. It came from one chapter outline element I had put together, but seemed at first
connected to a later story part, and then it became clear I needed to progress forward with the story
background putting things into

Reflective Essay On My Writing
Over the eighth grade year, I have learned to effectively use feedback and reflection skills to
strengthen my writing. These writing processes taught me to include peer and teacher feedback
along with self–reflection to earn a better grade on my writing pieces. In the beginning of the year, I
would simply complete the drafts my teacher assigned. Proof of my original writing process is shown
in the essay, titled One Necessity of a Hero: Personal Sacrifice, in which it reflects on the Thematic
Unit. To demonstrate my poor writing process, a segment of my original introduction stated, "After
analyzing documents from The Hobbit Thematic Unit, I discovered that the principles of heroism

I simply wrote one draft without using any feedback from adults or peers. If I decided to use
feedback on my piece, I know it would have been more beneficial to my development as a writer. On
this piece I earned an 85%, in which I wasn't satisfied with. From this, I was allowed to revise my
piece, allowing me to go in depth into my writing to earn a better grade. Also, before submitting
my revised essay, I asked my mom to read over my work to see if it would raise my grade. She gave
me a few valuable pieces of advice that helped raise the grade on my essay to a 90%. From the
Thematic Unit, I learned to improve my writing process to prepare myself for the future. At the
end of the year, I was told to write my own essay about William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night novel,
using my own writing process to be successful. My effective writing process included writing a first
draft and completing self–assessment afterwards. The first step of my process helped me understand
how my writing could develop into a stronger piece. After self–assessment, I wrote a second draft
and had a peer review my work. Finally, I made a third and final draft in order to present the best
version of my writing. As shown from the Soliloquy Essay, my writing process is

During this english course, I have learned how to change my writing in ways that make it more

me to change my writing process and write more creatively. Those essays have also forced me to

Another aspect that improved while taking English 101, was my writing process. Whenever I began
a new essay, I would create a list of ideas and a simple outline. These things allowed me to process
my ideas and arrange them in a way that made sense. Following these strategies helped me plan my
essays, but they did not allow me to branch my creativity or self–expression. This is because I had a
strict way of organizing my essay which denied me the ability to think creatively and write in
intriguing formats. For example, in my essay "The First Child", I was required to tell a true story
in a creative way. Before starting my paper, I wrote a list and outline which then lead me to write
a formal essay with no creativity or interesting hook. Therefore, when revising my essay I
interviewed the person who gave me their story and used index cards to organize my essay. I also
changed the format and looked for places where I could add more details and imagery. After
editing, my essay became more intriguing and had much more imagery that kept the reader
interested. This is one of my papers where I received good results and positive feedback after
submitting it. Furthermore, I learned through my work in this class that I struggle with conventions
and mechanics. After, submitting many of my essays, I noticed that in my feedback I had received
many notes about conventions, grammar, and punctuation. This revealed to me that I had to work on
proofreading my essay deeper and make

Essay My Thoughts on Writing
My Thoughts on Writing
The only thing I care about; the only thing I hope to get from this course, is some improvement in
my ability to write what I think –– explain ideas and feelings to other people. I don't give a damn
about anything else, and so far I haven't been disappointed. At the beginning of the course I was
informed that we were going to be discussing exposition, which isn't so much a kind of writing as a
purpose or attitude behind it. This purpose is to explore, unfold, or develop an idea or issue. And the
sense I've gotten from our discussion is that the attitude is one of intellectual honesty, of dedication
to learning something and reporting what's there , instead of protecting preconceived notions or
projecting agendas...show more content...
A friend of mine has already graduated from a university, and she recently went through a whole
crate of papers she wrote in the process. She told me she couldn't remember what many of them
were about; couldn't even remember writing most of them. We've talked about "themewriting"as
something written for and from a closed environment: a mini–universe apart from everyday life, with
its own abbreviated rules, in which oversimplification is acceptable. When I consider the sheer
tonnage of the stuff that's written every midquarter and finals week around here, it sure seems that
most of it is intended to, deserves to, and does head right for the wastebasket immediately when it's
of no further use in that universe: after it's recorded in the grade book. "Commitment" is a term
applied to solid exposition, and themewriting frequently lacks it.
Does anyone like to do this –– does it provide a warm, human, joyous feeling of having made
contact and saying something Important? Or do we just get comfortable doing it? Like being an
accountant: is there a real sense of joy to be found in adding up columns of figures? There may be
some people who would tell me "sure, it's fun," but I think actually they're just feeling safe in a sort
of half–sleep state which isn't exactly happy and may in fact be miserable, but at least is stable.
There may be a different kind of warmth, reserved for "a job well done," and "I might get a
promotion," and most especially: "I feel good

My Essay Writing

  • 1. My Thoughts On Writing And Writing Just like the writing I am forcing from my thoughts right now, writing in general is a difficult process for me to transfer from my mind to paper. I have found that when I write I tend to be very repetitive by saying the same thing in a different way over and over. I believe that my repetition is derived from trying to be too complex in the development of how I write. Some additional problems I come across in developing my rhetoric are concentrating; as my focus can be easily drawn away from the current topic at hand. I believe that it may be a short intention span or maybe even lack of understanding toward a certain topic such as the current one about writing developments. I struggle with my ability to form complete thoughts without jumping topics or merging each thought into one another. In retrospect to the problems I have come to face with my writing I do have many things I enjoy about writing. Writing to me is a way to be descriptive and creative with my own thoughts depending upon the style of course, but for the most part it is intriguing because everything that I will do in life will require me to have some set of writing skills. With the following in mind my essay writing process is developed from these aspects. My writing process will start by forming ideas in my head. Usually I don't like to write these ideas and thoughts down because I don't feel they are very developed therefore not worth the time it would take to plan them out on paper. This is especially true Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. My Writing Journey Writing Journey Have you ever been given an assignment where you say to yourself, "how the heck am I going to do this?" or maybe, "what am I supposed to write about?" Well that's exactly how I felt, thought, and did with this writing journey. Coming up with something to say about my writing journey has been difficult. I would be bold enough to say nearly impossible. So impossible it's like trying to get a camel through the eye of a needle. Okay that might be an exaggeration, but it has been difficult. The idea that I have a writing journey I understand. But thinking of an event or something that has made my writing the way it is has been difficult. So, what I've decided to do then is to write about my writing journey writing this paper. It all started the morning of August 22, 2017. I don't remember what the weather was, or even what I had for breakfast. But I do remember wondering how to get to the Metro Campus of Tulsa Community College or TCC for short. I had never been there before so it was a whole new place to me. Honestly because it was a new place I was a little worried about it. But I managed to make it there and on time to class. Class, English 0933, or better known as Writing Foundations. It was an interesting first class session with Dr. Dewayne Dickson. At this point I don't even remember what was taught that first time. I'm sure it was the Syllabus. But the first thing he did was have us write about our "writing journey." It took me a bit Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. How My Writing Changed The last time i wrote an essay or any academic writing was when i was in high school. Aside that te only writing i ave been involved in was for job application for in which i have already prepared. My writing has improved so much. MY vocabulary, how to start and introduction, how to write the body, how to conclude has all changed. I have learn summarizing my essays 250–300 words and I have I tackle each assignmenet with different pespective and it should come from me without any plagiarism. This is the first time my writings has to be free from plagiarism as it is not taken seriously before from my background. My writings has improved from everything coming from within and learning how to write it according to the Rubric. It is also new to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. My Essay Writing Analysis Throughout my years of English class, essay writing has always been one of my weakest points. Putting my thoughts onto a piece of paper is easy, but it is the process of reforming my thoughts and conveying them properly that is difficult to do. The most difficult type of essay for me is argumentative. I find good quotes that are relative to the topic and incorporate them into my essay well. However, when writing, analysis and syntax is where I am the most lacking. When writing, I believe my strengths are my abilities to stay on topic and provide relevant quotes. As I read the passage(s) that go along with the essay, I read thoroughly; therefore, I can find quotes within the passage(s) that bolster the argument. As I write the essay, I stay Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. I Am Confident For My Writing Writing has never been my strong suit so I understood why I had been placed into EWRT 211. Before this class I had not written an essay since I was a junior in high school (six years ago). I have always struggled with writing, but it was not until my first diagnostic essay that I realized how terrible my writing skills were. Everything about the diagnostic essay screamed that I did not know what I was doing. Since then, I have noticed a vast improvement in my writing. This class has taught me how to become a better writer by creating stronger theses and by knowing why rough drafts are important to writing. Nevertheless, I still need to develop better strategies to manage my writing. I chose my essays, What Influences Teens To Become Adults and Resilience Among College Students, because they demonstrate my growth throughout this class. Even though I still need to improve on managing my writing, I am confident in moving to EWRT 1A because I have learned how to create strong theses, and how rough drafts have a great impact on my writing. Without a strong thesis an essay falls apart and fails to let the reader know what they are trying to say. For instance, in my rough draft Stop of Reality my thesis was very vague and did not meet the requirements for the essay. It stated, "Although the injustice that these [Native American] women face still continue to this day, the women these three tribes face...will slowly begin to see justice for the crimes that were committed upon them" Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. My Writing Experience Reading and writing has always created a sense of understanding for me in my art. Reading in the literal sense is a way that we understand text or symbols in our minds which in turn create meaning. Writing also in a literal sense is our way of communicating our knowledge and emotions to others through symbols in text. The human experience for all people includes communication and through reading and writing this experience is created. From the beginning of this course, my only prior experience with reading and writing were high school level course over literature and reading. I had an average level of rhetoric, reading, writing and language overall however, understanding the significance of these subjects was never put forth in such a way until I took this course. I discovered through this course that reading is a combination of not only our "visual information" but also our "nonvisual information". My comprehension of reading has evolved from reading...show more content... I feel that organization is both a strength and a weakness in my writing. Free writing is something that helped me gain a better sense of my ideas and through this I was able to create more structured ideas. However, the formation of a structurally sound essay that contains writing that flows was extremely difficult for myself. Fluidity was a challenge throughout my time in this course, but is was also something that created a better voice in my writing. The understanding of reading and writing in this course was extremely meaningful for me and made a huge impact on my writing overall. Writing motivates me and inspires me in my own work to create stories and share with others what I feel is memorable and should be shared. Although it may never be something perfect, writing is something I wish to continue improving on and creating in order to share with Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Essay on Writing Experience My Writing Experiences My experiences in writing have been minimal. I have only learned the basics of writing, like putting together sentences, forming paragraphs with sentences, and things like that. Since I have been taking college English, I can tell my writing has improved a lot. In the future, I hope to be able to improve tremendously at writing essays, paragraphs, research papers, documents, and stories so that I have very little to no errors with drafting and final products. I predict I will be a well rounded writer when I graduate from college. Writing in the past started in kindergarten. My teacher taught me how to write my name over and over until I could write it with no errors. All through elementary my teachers taught me...show more content... I need to learn to quit thinking as much on what I want to write about and how to write about a topic and just starting jotting stuff down in outline form as it comes to mind. Run–ons and fragments I need to be able to spot and fix right away or I really need to not have any in my papers at all. My goals are to write papers and not have to reassure myself that maybe I need to do more research or have more data or even have to rethink my whole topic over. I would love to have the knowledge to be a tutor someday and teach other people how to properly write papers, paragraphs, essays, and maybe even books. To have excellent skills in writing will definitely be a great advantage in my nursing profession. In nursing, I will have to do lots of charting on my patients. I will have to do health presentations on various subjects such as exercising, how our society eats, and sex education if I want to be a course instructor. Researching information on all of those topics I will have to make sure I do an excellent job on and collect accurate information and statistics so that I can compare to other sources. Dictating to the doctor means that I will need to write properly so that he understands what I am saying. Other nurses will have to be able to understand what I am talking about by my writing skills when doing shift changes. I will have to be very precise so that other nurses will not Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. My Reflective Essay Writing Before this semester, my essay writing would have been considered rather poor. This was because I did not understand the various components of a properly written and accompany them to effectively communicate my ideas. I lacked the most in keeping the audience involved hence, catching and maintaining their attention, to my writing from the introduction to the conclusion. To me, writing was more complicated than a speech since a speech involved direct audience who the speaker can gauge their feelings. I took writing as a difficult task since it involved indirect audience and ensuring that I meet the demands of such indirect audience, brought more confusion. Though the case, this past semester's class has really improved my skills in writing. I have learned to to make an effective written piece. Through the various learning experiences such as individual readings, professional feedback and many others, I have been able to interact with diverse knowledge sources which have made me much better by removing the confusion and negative picture I had with regard to writing. The first area of my improvement is on the organization skills which I have gained, enabling me to develop an excellent structure for my essays. In my first essays, I was struggling to build an introduction that would not only be clear to the readers but also cultivate their interest to read the rest of the article. My introduction thus appeared ambiguous and was very general as from the feedback I would regularly obtain from my Instructor. Through engaging in regular essay writing, this has really changed. This is evident in my cause and effect essay where I was able to introduce the easy with a personal history of the perception of the people with regard to the water they took 'At home, people subconsciously believe that the water they drink, wash clothes with and bathe in is clean' (Kulhahay 1, par. 1) . I was able to place the audience to the issue I was addressing by giving their general view on how they treat water contamination which was the subject of my writing. In this easy I was able to introduce the readers to the controversy that had me to write the paper i.e. both leaving the water untreated and treating it is a challenge as in Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 10. My Writing Essay My Writing In the past four years, I have written many papers for various classes, enjoying some and others having to choke out words to write down. In this memo I will describe my writing projects and how they made me become a better writer, and how they will continue to help develop me into a becoming a more prosperous writer. What I Really Learned in English 100 Well as a recent pupil of the Great McFadden I want to do all that I can to be on his good side, for he said that if I go one mile to meet him, he will go two miles to meet me, which seems more that fair. As an assignment I am told that I have to write what I learned in English 100 and how that it prepared me for English 200. Well sincehonesty is the best way of...show more content... Having taken many writing classes I have learned many things about writing. I enjoy writing and can often write many pages about things that I am interested in. I know that I have more learning to do about writing, and hopefully in the next couple weeks my knowledge of writing will have expanded and my writing will have improved. My Experience With Writing Arguments I am unaware of any writing arguments. The only thing I can really think of is writing a research paper with the intent to change people's minds on a certain subject. I remember researching for weeks in the library, looking through magazine after magazine. I had searched for enough information to write a ten–page paper. The writing process of the paper took several weeks but when I had finished, all the hard work was worth the effort. I learned many things from that course such as that you need to search for all the information you can because it is better to have too much information than not enough. Also that course taught me many things about making references to the authors of the articles I used for my paper. I remember writing out note card after note card and keeping all the necessary information about each book or magazine. That course taught me to become a better writer and to respect how much detail really goes into a research paper like I had written. Other than that, I have not really had much experience in Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. My Experience In English Writing English is a core concept in the Untied States and other countries that has allowed inviduals to advance their knowledge. Not only does English provide an advancement in knowlege, but has created a way for individuals to share their thoughts and feelings through writing. Which is why English is one of the four subjects that is required to be taught in almost every school district in America including mine. I began taking English from a young age which allowed me to take advanced placement English IV my senior year at Tupelo High School. Advanced Placement English IV allowed me to further my education in writing, which in return allowed me to overcome obstacles, low points and discover strengths I never knew I had. Like any other thing in life there are always obstacles individuals face everyday, for me in my English IV class writing was something that was very challenging. The first challenge writing presented to me was trying to organize all of my thoughts, so that it made sense. The first essay I ever wrote in my English class was a journal entry about a memorable experience, so with that being said I decided I would write about the experience I had while hunting with my Dad. The hunting experience with my dad had many different parts, and one of my biggest challenges I had was organizing my thoughts, so that it flowed correctly. Since I was telling a story within my journal I realized that I was jumping around more then I should have and this became a problem. I learned Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Writing is way that we can express ourselves, it is a way to interface ideas and thoughts and to prove a point. Throughout my writing experience or process I have struggled with writing especially using details or really expressing myself my work. In this course Facts & Fiction: Portraits in World Art I expect to gain more knowledge on how to write a perfectessay, story, letter, and assignment. I expect to learn new genres and rhetorical situations. I also think my writing will improve academically and I will develop my skills in writing. Also taking my writing to a different point of view, level, and writing something different rather than the usual. I look forward to getting feedback from my peers and learning their thoughts on my writing and how they can help me improve. Reading and writing were two things my parents use to always push me to improve and work on more often. They always told me they are the essentials of everything thing. Even though I disliked both at a young age as I grew older I preferred writing because I can always change the way I write and write from my point of view, really be creative with it and prove my point. Growing up I always loved writing short stories especially scary stories. I always was creative with them and even made them realistic. To write an essay I usually have a couple of steps writing an outline, and the thesis a draft and finally a final draft. The most difficult part about this is writing the thesis because the whole essay revolves the thesis because it summarizes the whole essay. At the end of some essays, I had to use citations to do that there were many websites that helped me cite sources such as easybib which was a really simple process. So, citing sources was one of the easiest things about writing the essay. Writing to a teacher is way more complex then writing to a fried or a family member. Writing to a teacher is way more complex, I must make sure that everything is on point or it reaches the state of protection. Which is having the right format, a great thesis and really conveying the point of the essay. Writing to a friend or a family member is much easier I usually don't focus on grammatic errors or writing a perfect thesis. Today some of us don't Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. How My Writing Has Changed Essay My writing styles have changed drastically over the past four years of high school. This memo will explain how my writing has changed and how my knowledge of writing has improved. Aspects of My Writing during High School During my English courses throughout high school, I learned many things from writing simple journals, research papers, and a single term paper. During high school, I was laid back and procrastinated for much of my work. During the latter part of high school when I wrote my term paper my senior year, I found out that working a little every night writing a few paragraphs helped me out greatly. I was not just throwing something together just to get the grade and the paper finished. I spent time on the paper and...show more content... I do this so the information is true, and also in order from which events have occurred. When I wrote my term paper my senior year I was well organized. I was required to write about an event in history. I chose India Uprising of 1877 as the topic of my paper. This topic was not interesting at all, but I chose to write about it. When I finished writing my thesis and outline, I wrote note cards about the different topics, which allowed me to gather all my information and organize it in which different events occurred. When I was finished with the paper, it sounded and read consistently and it all flowed together. How These Experiences Prepared Me for College Writing I have written many different types of papers for all of my classes throughout high school. For my science classes, I have written several labs in the form of essays. Writing the essays was different for me because I did not really know that science had much to do with writing. It took me a while to gather all the information I needed to finish my lab assignments. Writing lab reports will definitely help me in my science courses in the next four years. The journals I have written came from my four years of high school English. Everyday I came to class there would be a topic on the board. I took five minutes each day to write about the given topic. It was brainstorming and giving our input on whatever the topic was. I think Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 15. My Writing As A Career Writing is not a profession for me, it's more like a path to reach Zen. I'm a budding creative writer who focusses on coming up with meaningful contents which can help my readers in some way or the other. So, needless to say, I don't do crappy jobs at all. I am an avid reader and like to see the historical side of stories to have an understanding of the vastness of wisdom, so that some day, my wisdom could be reflected through the pages of my writing . See how dreamy my writing looks ? Don't worry , tell me who your target audience are and I can tailor the story accordingly. But at least when we talk, lets keep the dreamy side up and create something meaningful and beautiful. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 16. Reflection On My English 101 Experience Reflecting on My English 101 Experience I used to consider writing as tumble words from your mind, write, read it through, fix minor mistakes, and done. However, you rarely get successful. The truth is many students, including myself, struggle with starting to write a word, or getting stuck in the middle without knowing the main point of the writing. After completing English 101, I can explain the writing process, evaluate the strengths of my essay, and identify my weaknesses. Throughout English 101, I learned that the following the writing process was imperative. Before taking this class, I use to always skip the pre–writing step considering that it is just an easy and unnecessary step. Consequently, I struggled to figure how to start writing, and most importantly I struggled to figure out the main point while writing the draft. And then I finish the first draft close to the deadline that I do not have time to read it not to mention revising. It was after I started this class that learned that pre–writing is vital, and requires time and attention as it holds the base of the whole writing. My professor used different analogies such as blueprint for building and map for navigation to explain the importance. It really speeded up my writing after I started to utilize it. I have learned outlining before, but part of the pre–writing that I was fortunate enough to learning in English 101 is the writing triangle. Even before outlining, the topic, purpose, and audience of the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. Write An Essay About My Writing Style When I'm starting to write, it seems there are always distractions, e.g. my Dad has the TV on loud, the dogs are barking, etc. It's difficult to focus, and makes it next to impossible for me to concentrate on the task at hand and carry out what I have set out to do. So, the first thing I do is clear my brain. Sometimes I will wear headphones and play some gentle new age music, quiet to the point where I almost don't hear it, to enter a state allowing for clear thinking. Once I'm there, I mentally brainstorm possible topics, write down the ones I have the strongest concepts for, and then narrow down the choices until I am left with the few speaking to me. The next step is to draft an outline for each, unless I have already chosen one specific one, and figure out whether I have enough ideas on the topic(s) to compose a full–length written piece. It usually helps narrow the field down to one, although there have been times I had to stop and decide if maybe there was better subject matter out there I hadn't considered yet. Outlines can take many forms, which I know only too well as I have already tried a few. Some people gravitate to the Chapter and Sub–Chapter style, while others use bullet points they can adjust. The choices are many. I am doing a memoir project, and have figured out I may actually join several different outline styles. After many outline attempts, what I call trial and error, I decided my piece needed to start with something akin to a bang, something to draw the readers' attention so much they want to read further to find out what was going on. It came from one chapter outline element I had put together, but seemed at first connected to a later story part, and then it became clear I needed to progress forward with the story background putting things into Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. Reflective Essay On My Writing Over the eighth grade year, I have learned to effectively use feedback and reflection skills to strengthen my writing. These writing processes taught me to include peer and teacher feedback along with self–reflection to earn a better grade on my writing pieces. In the beginning of the year, I would simply complete the drafts my teacher assigned. Proof of my original writing process is shown in the essay, titled One Necessity of a Hero: Personal Sacrifice, in which it reflects on the Thematic Unit. To demonstrate my poor writing process, a segment of my original introduction stated, "After analyzing documents from The Hobbit Thematic Unit, I discovered that the principles of heroism involve personal sacrifice. I also learned that a hero is...show more content... I simply wrote one draft without using any feedback from adults or peers. If I decided to use feedback on my piece, I know it would have been more beneficial to my development as a writer. On this piece I earned an 85%, in which I wasn't satisfied with. From this, I was allowed to revise my piece, allowing me to go in depth into my writing to earn a better grade. Also, before submitting my revised essay, I asked my mom to read over my work to see if it would raise my grade. She gave me a few valuable pieces of advice that helped raise the grade on my essay to a 90%. From the Thematic Unit, I learned to improve my writing process to prepare myself for the future. At the end of the year, I was told to write my own essay about William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night novel, using my own writing process to be successful. My effective writing process included writing a first draft and completing self–assessment afterwards. The first step of my process helped me understand how my writing could develop into a stronger piece. After self–assessment, I wrote a second draft and had a peer review my work. Finally, I made a third and final draft in order to present the best version of my writing. As shown from the Soliloquy Essay, my writing process is Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. The Journey of Writing Writing is something I enjoy doing to share my opinions and ideas. During this english course, I have learned how to change my writing in ways that make it more intriguing and effective. The essays I have written during this English 101 course have pushed me to change my writing process and write more creatively. Those essays have also forced me to reanalyze my personal opinions and beliefs. After taking this course, I believe that my identity as a writer has changed for the better. The English 101 Composition course has impacted me in a positive way. The essays I have written in this class have helped me expand my perspectives and reevaluate my own personal beliefs. For example, the essay "Praising the Golden...show more content... Another aspect that improved while taking English 101, was my writing process. Whenever I began a new essay, I would create a list of ideas and a simple outline. These things allowed me to process my ideas and arrange them in a way that made sense. Following these strategies helped me plan my essays, but they did not allow me to branch my creativity or self–expression. This is because I had a strict way of organizing my essay which denied me the ability to think creatively and write in intriguing formats. For example, in my essay "The First Child", I was required to tell a true story in a creative way. Before starting my paper, I wrote a list and outline which then lead me to write a formal essay with no creativity or interesting hook. Therefore, when revising my essay I interviewed the person who gave me their story and used index cards to organize my essay. I also changed the format and looked for places where I could add more details and imagery. After editing, my essay became more intriguing and had much more imagery that kept the reader interested. This is one of my papers where I received good results and positive feedback after submitting it. Furthermore, I learned through my work in this class that I struggle with conventions and mechanics. After, submitting many of my essays, I noticed that in my feedback I had received many notes about conventions, grammar, and punctuation. This revealed to me that I had to work on proofreading my essay deeper and make Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 20. Essay My Thoughts on Writing My Thoughts on Writing The only thing I care about; the only thing I hope to get from this course, is some improvement in my ability to write what I think –– explain ideas and feelings to other people. I don't give a damn about anything else, and so far I haven't been disappointed. At the beginning of the course I was informed that we were going to be discussing exposition, which isn't so much a kind of writing as a purpose or attitude behind it. This purpose is to explore, unfold, or develop an idea or issue. And the sense I've gotten from our discussion is that the attitude is one of intellectual honesty, of dedication to learning something and reporting what's there , instead of protecting preconceived notions or projecting agendas...show more content... A friend of mine has already graduated from a university, and she recently went through a whole crate of papers she wrote in the process. She told me she couldn't remember what many of them were about; couldn't even remember writing most of them. We've talked about "themewriting"as something written for and from a closed environment: a mini–universe apart from everyday life, with its own abbreviated rules, in which oversimplification is acceptable. When I consider the sheer tonnage of the stuff that's written every midquarter and finals week around here, it sure seems that most of it is intended to, deserves to, and does head right for the wastebasket immediately when it's of no further use in that universe: after it's recorded in the grade book. "Commitment" is a term applied to solid exposition, and themewriting frequently lacks it. Does anyone like to do this –– does it provide a warm, human, joyous feeling of having made contact and saying something Important? Or do we just get comfortable doing it? Like being an accountant: is there a real sense of joy to be found in adding up columns of figures? There may be some people who would tell me "sure, it's fun," but I think actually they're just feeling safe in a sort of half–sleep state which isn't exactly happy and may in fact be miserable, but at least is stable. There may be a different kind of warmth, reserved for "a job well done," and "I might get a promotion," and most especially: "I feel good Get more content on HelpWriting.net
