3. My Own Art I did this drawing with a pencil because I was very interested in Eschers work and I wanted to try to do something new that he had not done to make it personal to me. He influenced me to show my own kind of art.

5. Ingres When Degas was younger he was greatly influenced by the work of Ingres and loved to paint in a classical style until meeting Monet and the impressionists. Degas had a skill as a draghtsman and because of it his paintings had a feeling of immediacy. He discarded calssical rules of compsition and used an oblique angle with light coming from below to create a new type of theatrical space.

9. In France in the 1870’s, these few artists painted different things that what were considered normal in their time. Even though no one liked their work, they kept on paining what they loved and that is what made their work so powerful. 10. Alfred Sisley These pictures done by Alfred Sisley shows how he wanted to make ordinary scenes come alive with almost a blurred vision. He thought that by doing this he could show others how even their own back yard can turn into art with the right tools.
