3. Materials iTunes, which can be downloaded free An iPod, with USB cord CD’s that you want to sync to your iPod
4. Step 1: Get iTunes Download iTunes for free from this site: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ Note: You'll need a computer with at least 256 MB of RAM and a 500 MHz processor . Click on the large blue “Download Now” button to start downloading.

6. Step 1: Get iTunes After selecting “Run” iTunes will start downloading. The next prompt is a wizard that will ask you to install iTunes. Click: Install Next Accept Wait for iTunes to install completely, iTunes will tell you when it has been installed successfully.
7. Step 2: Import Music to iTunes Now that you have iTunes you can start to build your music library. Double click the iTunes icon on your desktop. It will look something like this: The iTunes main page will open revealing your library, a link to the iTunes store, and other options.
8. Step 2: Import Music to iTunes The first time you open iTunes, it will ask if you if would like to organize the music you have already loaded on your computer into your iTunes library. Select “Yes” and your music can be loaded from your computer by following these steps:
9. Step 2: Import Music to iTunes Locate the folder containing the files you want added to your iTunes Library. Open iTunes. Click on "File," then "Add Folder to Library."
10. Step 2: Import Music to iTunes Find the folder in the browsing window that pops up, and click "OK." Wait for iTunes to finish importing the files. Note: you can also add music files to iTunes by dragging and dropping them into iTunes.
11. Step 2: Import Music to iTunes The next step is to convert music from a hard copy, I.E. your CD collection to a digital format so it can be loaded on your iPod. Choose a CD and insert it into the disk drive on your laptop/ computer. It may take a few moments for the CD to be registered.

13. Step 3: Sync Music to iPod After the CD is fully imported, you can load it onto your iPod. To do this, the iPod needs to be connected to the computer using the USB cord it came with. Fit the wide, pronged end of the cord into the bottom of the iPod, then insert the USB into the USB port on your computer.
14. Step 3: Sync Music to iPod Your computer will install your iPod automatically and may ask you to scan the device to make sure it is safe. You can scan your iPod if desired, or simply select “Do Not Scan” to continue.

Check the “Manually manage music” box under your syncing options and drag and drop songs from the library to the iPod icon. Finally, click on the “Sync” button on the iPod screen to load the selected music to your device.
