were discovered in Iraq in the

2,500 BC. Back to 3000 BC there
were two types of earrings: the
hoop, and the more elaborate
pendant. From 1559 B.C. to 1085
B.C. in Egypt earplugs became
very fashionable. These types of
piercings and earrings are seen
even on King Tutankhamen.
4. All About Necklaces
Other early examples of
ornamented beads have been
found in Egypt. These beads are
indicative of an advanced art.
Glass beads were highly colored
and beads of pottery were glazed
with blue and green. Although
the twelfth dynasty produced a
type of large, fine, round beads,
it was the eighteenth dynasty
where the beadwork reached its
highest point of perfection. Due
to the roman intervention, glass
was used in the same principle as
Millefiori glass.
5. History of Necklaces
Necklaces, handsome and
richly ornamented, were a
principal part of the dress,
both of men and women,
among the ancient
Egyptians; and some idea
of the number of jewels
they wore. may be formed
from those borrowed by
the Israelites at the time of
the Exodus, and by the
paintings of Thebes. They
consisted of gold or of
beads, of various qualities
and shapes, disposed
according to fancy and
enriched with jewels.
6. All About Bracelets

inexpensive to extremely
pricey, and can be made from a
variety of different materials
such as plastic, metals
(including precious metals
such as silver, gold and
platinum, and often come

7. History Of BraceletsThe earliest bracelets date back to around 2500
BC and were those worn by the Sumerians in
southern Mesopotamia. Bracelets, necklaces,
anklets, finger rings and ear rings made the
women of Sumer into show windows of their
husband's prosperity. Bracelets were found in
the tombs of Ur where it was customary to
bury royalty with their jewelry and
unfortunately their poor servants. By about
2000 BC, in Ancient Egypt, bracelets
emerged as major pieces of jewelry. Bracelets
were found in the ruins from the Vesuvius
eruption in Pompeii in 79 AD. It was during
the age of the Egyptian Pharaohs that charm
bracelets were first seen although charms
themselves dated back as far as the Neolithic
era when men would gather unusual bits of
wood or pieces of stone which would be
carried about their person in order to ward
off their enemies. So these charms were
considered ‘lucky charms’ and powerful
protectors against evil.
