- 5. The Blue Spruce! The genus of the Spruce tree is the Picea. The scientific name of the Blue Spruce is Picea pungens. Blue Spruce is kind of like an evergreen. But there are different things about it too. Blue spruce trees have needles that are ¾ to 1 ¼ inches long. They also have cones that grow up to 2 to 4 inches long, they mature in the fall. The tree looks like a medium to large tree with a pyramidal form reaching up to 80 feet tall. The branches appear layered, especially with age. The Spruce tree is the most important tree for paper. The leaves are a bright green towards the top, and pale green down to the bottom. These leaves turn bright yellow, orange or red in the fall. The Sugar Maple is an extremely important species to the ecology of many forests in North America.The Sugar Maple tree can grow to be up to 82-115 feet tall. Carlos and I went outside to find a Maple tree and we did. This is what we found!

Honey locusts can reach a height of 66–100 ft, with fast growth, they really don’t live long they live for about 120 years some living up to 150. The honey locust is a North American tree. Thornless honey locust seed pods and seeds are consumed by livestock and wildlife such as rabbits, deer, and squirrels.The pulp on the insides of the pods is edible, unlike the Black locust, which is toxic.

- 35. The Green Ash! The Green Ash has a scientific name its name is Fraxinus pennsylvanica. Green ash trees have an average life span of 100 to 120 years. The wood of Green Ash trees form strong branches.The canopy of the Green Ash Trees is shaped pyramidal or globular, and the leaves are opposite-just like the branching habit that shows opposite placement.The Green Ash tree can live to be 100 years old with a 3 foot trunk diameter.
