South Africa is a beautiful country blessed with a wonderfully diverse population and geography. It is home to some 50 million people from at least 20 ethnic groups.South Africa consists of two main regions: a huge inland plateau that is fringed by a narrow coastal plain on three sides. Separating the two is an escarpment of mountains and hills, dominated by the mighty Drakensberg range.South Africa boasts some of the earliest evidence of the emergence of the human species, between one and three million years ago.

He became a symbol of the sports boycott movement when pictures of him receiving his trophy outdoors in the rain, because, due to apartheid, he was not allowed to enter the clubhouse, were published across the world. Sewgolum, a former caddie, with his wrong-way-round grip (left hand beneath his right) caused a stir in 1963 when he beat 103 white golfers including Harold Henning in the provincial Natal Open tournament at the Durban Country Club. In 1965 he beat Gary Player to win the title for the second time. He also won the Dutch Open in 1959, 1960 and 1964. He was the winner of a number of non-white golfing championships in South Africa.

Housing in SA reflects the inequalities in wealth that still exist between the country’s rich and poor. Some homes rival the most imposing in the world, there are mansions, well-tended cottages, gated-communities and golf course estates. Tin shanties and informal or squatter settlements blight most of SA’s cities and towns.Government is acutely aware of this problem and continuously building homes to meet this demand.
Property growth is the common contributing factor to a country‟s economic prosperity and is always followed with much interest. As expected, the 2013 Property Report has confirmed that the growth experienced in the property boom years of 2003-2008, has somewhat slowed down. In January 2013: the average price of small homes (80-140 sq. m) was ZAR789,400 (US$89,301) the average price of medium-sized homes (141-220 sq. m) was ZAR1,077,700 (US$121,915) the average price of large homes (221-400 sq. m) was ZAR1,592,800 (US$180,185).
Looking at the property market ten years ago, South Africa‟s residential property market grew by 20% from 4.4 million. Five years later in 2008, this growth was pushed to 5.3 million. A further five years later to present day, another 9% growth has attributed to 5.8 million residential property owners in our country. The Report illustrates that nationally, black ownership grew from 37% of all residential property in 2003 to 40% in 2008 and 42% in 2013.
