1. LA SERPIENTE DEL FARAÓN
THE PHARAOH'S SNAKE
La serpiente del faraón es un juguete que se vendía hace muchos años en algunos
puestos de juguetes. Eran unas bolitas que al prenderle fuego ardían con lentitud,
produciendo una ceniza gris verdosa y esponjada, en constante lenta dilatación,
cual si fuese una serpiente saliendo de un huevo. Esto era un espectáculo
entretenido, pues cada bolita ardía de manera diferente.
The pharaoh's snake is a toy that was sold many years ago in some toys stalls. They were
little balls. When they were lit, they burned slowly, producing a green and grey fluffy ash,
which was growing slowly but steadily, as if it were a snake coming out of an egg. This was
an entertaining show, because each ball burned differently.

Dicromato potásico Sugar
KNO3 3 gr. Nitrato potásico
2. ¿Cómo lo hacemos?

Pesamos los compuestos
We weigh all the compounds
Pulverizamos los compuestos finamente y por separado
We grind the compounds separately and gently
Mezclamos y removemos bien las tres sustancias
We Mix and stir well the three substances
3. Agregar unas pocas gotas de agua y amasar con los dedos la mezcla hasta formar
una masa no muy blanda, fácil de moldear. Se puede dividir en porciones.
We add a few drops of water and knead the mixture with our fingers until it becomes easy to
shape (not too soft). Then, we can divide it in portions.
Para terminar, déjalos secar.
Finally, let them dry.
4. Cuando estén secos, préndelos por un extremo, en una cápsula de porcelana y
observa.
When they are dry, light one of their ends. Put them in a porcelain dish and observe.
