        Hamworthy Gas System recognized that it had the
    opportunity to develop several new business streams, but its
    existing IT set-up could not support the initiatives.
        Attracted by IFS’ project-oriented industry knowledge with
    particular reference to EPCI and the range of the solution’s
    functionality, Hamworthy tasked IFS to provide it with a
    solution that enabled the company to make more of what it has.

DAwN OF A NEw ERA
        When you’re simultaneously running a number of big and
        complex projects, the ability to minimize risk is absolutely
        critical. So Damen, the largest shipbuilders in the Netherlands,
        formulated a plan called Dawn, with the sole intention of
        standardizing processes, systems and data throughout the
        organization.
            To successfully implement the plan, Damen needed to find
        a solution that could provide the highest level of integration
        and functionality together with a user interface that is so user-
        friendly it actually encourages user participation. It seemed like
        a tall order until Damen took a close look at IFS Applications 7.5
        with the new Enterprise Explorer interface—then it all became
        surprisingly clear.

     When Heerema decided to become a global EPCI player, the
     first thing it had to do was replace its existing legacy IT solution.
     Why?
         Because it was composed of many different home-grown
     software solutions which didn’t have what it takes to support
     the new strategy.
         So Heerema listed all its requirements, mainly from a func-
     tional point of view. The company needed a solution that was
     completely integrated and would support all of its core processes.
