Comparative Essay: Multiple Intelligences & Cooperative Learning and Suggestopedia<br />Valeria Retamal Garrido<br />Diego Ulloa Iglesias<br />DID0412-1<br />May 4<br />For many years, scientists have tried to find a unique way to make students understand different subjects, but they realized that students are actually unique, that they have different styles of learning, and that environment is a prominent issue within the teaching and learning process. For this, some other scientists have focused on keeping up with this issue trying to go beyond it by keeping students active and involving them in a whole cooperative, relaxing class.<br />First of all, if someone thinks of both Multiple Intelligences & Cooperative learning and Suggestopedia as a two-in-one way of teaching, then she or he would be expecting students get involved in a class characterized by being interactive, soothing, and also very productive. This happens due to that, on one hand, Multiple Intelligences refer to different styles of learning which can be treated as a whole by means of Cooperative Learning in order to engage all the students in learning a particular topic according to the different strategies that fit in with every single student, and on the other hand, Suggestopedia tries to see students by a cognitive point of view and it analyzes how they feel when they learn a foreign or second language. According to this purpose, teachers should be aware of all the factors which can affect the learning process; moreover, students would be able to learn new topics in the best possible way by using different strategies depending on their personalities and development in class. <br />When making a relation of both students and teachers between both Multiple Intelligences & Cooperative Learning and Suggestopedia, one is able to establish that the latter have a productive role in the classroom because they are in charge of finding their own way of learning in order to construct their own knowledge by cooperating with their classmates in a relaxing, productive environment; whereas teachers are in charge of guiding students to those own ways of learning by creating an appropriate, stimulating atmosphere.<br />In order to sum up the importance of these methodologies and its contribution in education, real experience has shown that productive, friendly learning is faster, more efficient and more enjoyable; individual needs and learning styles are addressed; students' creativity, social behavior and well-being are enhanced; a constant flow of feedback in a pleasant and encouraging learning environment is spontaneously developed, and the most prominent thing is that both students and teachers would be motivated to working in their own roles by rediscovering the joy of learning and teaching.<br />References<br />Larsen-Freeman D.
