The narrator sees Kyle getting knocked over and having his books and glasses thrown, so he helps Kyle pick up his things. They become friends and hang out that weekend. Over their four years of high school, Kyle and the narrator become best friends. At their graduation, Kyle gives a speech where he reveals to everyone that he was planning to kill himself until the narrator helped him that day and they became friends. The narrator had unknowingly saved Kyle's life by showing him kindness.
Everyone needs friends, and you probably have always had at least one. A friend is defined as a person you know well and regard with affection, trust and respect. As you get older, some of your friendships will start to change, and some may grow deeper. You might also begin to know many more people, although not all of them will be your close friends. Chances are you will also start to spend more time with your friends, and maybe talk on the phone more. Changes in relationships are natural but not always easy.
This story deals with a sensitive topic, and in today’s time this story is more relevant. Apart from socio emotional skills this story will enhance language, and problem solving skills in the children .
while narrating the story parents/teachers can talk about certain points which will help in knowing what children feel about this issue
“There is this girl who stole my heart and she calls me Daddy.” – Unknown
“You fathers will understand. You have a little girl. She looks up to you. You’re her oracle. You’re her hero. And then the day comes when she gets her first permanent wave and goes to her first real party, and from that day on, you’re in a constant state of panic.” – Stanley T. Banks
My father is my role model. He is the person who I wish to become like.My father has all the qualities that I find are the ideal qualities in a person. He is honest, and he is also courageous to be that way. He always seeks the truth and abides by it. He will do all he can for this.He is helpful to people who may need his help. But he is never proud of all his good qualities. That is how I wish to be. And so I see him as my role model at all times.

10 Ways to Overcome Our Daily Struggles, A Guide For Christian WomenBrenda Silveira
Life is hard and many of us focus on our problems instead of trying to find solutions. Women especially struggle because the world puts high expectations on us and tries to make us believe the lie that we aren't good enough and our problems define who we are. When we put our focus on God and allow Him to help us, we can overcome our struggles and find peace despite our circumstances.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

1. THE SURPRISE
This was a story sent to me via email and it touched me
deeply.
The ending shows how just 1 person can dramatically
change the life of another.
Presented by I M Confident Niagara Canada
www.imconfident.com
2. One day, when I was a
freshman in high school, I
saw a kid from my class was
walking home from school.
His name was Kyle.
It looked like he was carrying
all of his books.
3. I thought to myself, 'Why would
anyone bring home all his books
on a Friday? He must really be a
nerd.‘
I had quite a weekend planned
(parties and a football game with
my friends tomorrow afternoon),
so I shrugged my shoulders and
went on.
4. As I was walking, I saw a bunch of kids
running toward him.
They ran at him, knocking all his books out of
his arms and tripping him so he landed in the
dirt.
His glasses went flying, and I saw them land in
the grass about ten feet from him...
He looked up and I saw this terrible sadness
in his eyes.
5. My heart went out to him.
So, I jogged over to him as
he crawled around looking
for his glasses, and I saw a
tear in his eye.
As I handed him his
glasses, I said, 'Those guys
are jerks. They really
should get lives. '
6. ' He looked at me and said,
'Hey thanks!'
There was a big smile on
his face.
It was one of those smiles
that showed real gratitude.
Hey
thanks
7. I helped him pick up his books, and asked him
where he lived...
As it turned out, he lived near me, so I asked
him why I had never seen him before...
He said he had gone to private school before
now. I would have never hung out with a
private school kid before.
8. We talked all the way home, and I carried
some of his books. He turned out to be a
pretty cool kid.
I asked him if he wanted to play a little
football with my friends He said yes..
9. We hung out all weekend and
the more I got to know Kyle,
the more I liked him,
and my friends thought the
same of him.
10. Monday morning came, and
there was Kyle with the huge
stack of books again.
I stopped him and said, 'Boy,
you are gonna really build some
serious muscles with this pile of
books everyday!
' He just laughed and handed
me half the books. Over the next
four years, Kyle and I became
best friends..
11. When we were seniors we began to think
about college. Kyle decided on Georgetown
and I was going to Duke.
I knew that we would always be friends, that
the miles would never be a problem.
He was going to be a doctor and I was going
for business on a football scholarship..
12. Kyle was valedictorian of our class. I
teased him all the time about being a nerd.
He had to prepare a speech for graduation.
I was so glad it wasn't me having to get up
there and speak.
13. Graduation day, I saw Kyle. He looked great.
He was one of those guys that really found
himself during high school. He filled out and
actually looked good in glasses.
He had more dates than I had and all the girls
loved him. Boy, sometimes I was jealous!
14. Today was one of those days. I could see that
he was nervous about his speech.
So, I smacked him on the back and said, 'Hey,
big guy, you'll be great!'
He looked at me with one of those looks (the
really grateful one) and smiled. ' Thanks,' he
said.
15. As he started his speech, he cleared his
throat, and began….
'Graduation is a time to thank those who
helped you make it through those tough
years.
Your parents, your teachers, your siblings,
maybe a coach....but mostly your friends.....
I am here to tell all of you that being a friend
to someone is the best gift you can give them.
16. I am going to tell you a story.'
I just looked at my friend with
disbelief as he told about the
first day we met.
He had planned to kill himself
over the weekend.
He talked of how he had
cleaned out his locker
so his Mom wouldn't have to
do it later and was carrying
his stuff home.
17. He looked hard at me and gave me a little
smile.
'Thankfully, I was saved... My friend saved
me from doing the unspeakable....'
18. I heard the gasp go through the crowd as
this handsome, popular boy told us all
about his weakest moment.
I saw his Mom and Dad looking at me and
smiling that same grateful smile.
Not until that moment did I realize it's
depth.
19. Never underestimate the
power of your actions..
With one small gesture you
can change a person's life.
For better or for worse......
God puts us all in each
others lives to impact one
another in some way.
Look for God in others.
20. 'Friends are angels who lift
us to our feet when our wings
have trouble remembering
how to fly.'
There is no beginning or
end.. Yesterday is history.
Tomorrow is a mystery.
Today is a gift.
