Currently, in order to qualify for Express Entry, your job experience must be described using one of the NOC skill classes 0, A, or B, which correspond to the NOC 2016. After the modification, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will use the new Training, Education, Experience and Responsibilities (TEER) system to determine a candidate's eligibility for work experience.
2. On November 16, 2022, Canada's immigration department will switch to the 2021
National Occupational Classification (NOC) system. The new TEER system will modify
the requirements for participation in various Canadian immigration services, most
notably Express Entry.

3. To comply with the NOC 2021 structure for all 3 Express Entry programmers, updated
NOC 2021 eligibility requirements will be adjusted (Canadian Experience Class, Federal
Skilled Worker Program, and Federal Skilled Trades Program). From NOC 2021, TEER
Categories will take the role of Skill Type and Skill Levels from NOC 2016.
The programs that NOC 2021 will affect are listed below. Due to these modifications,
these programs will have new eligibility requirements.

5. On the IRCC website, instructions are provided for candidates for Express Entry who
are currently in the pool as well as those who have not yet applied.
If you have already submitted your profile but have not yet received an invitation to
apply, you must update your profile on or after November 16, 2022. (ITA). To make
this modification, first search the NOC 2021 list on the Employment and Social
Development Canada (ESDC) website. After that, update your profile with your TEER
Category and five-digit occupation code.
Instructions for Express Entry candidates
6. If you plan to submit your Express Entry profile on or after November 16, 2022, you
must locate the code for your occupation on the NOC 2021 list and include it when
creating your profile. If you received ITA before November 16, 2022, it is not
necessary to figure out which new code matches the one you already have.
