Social inclusion thus far focused on inclusion of marginalized and weaker groups with reservations, grants, subsidies etc. Sustainability of many of these interventions is in question. Is it not time to include creative class in problem definition to solution implementation???
2. Empowerment
• Historically large sections of population were
excluded from
growth, development, prosperity.
• A democratic system based on European
concept of equality is now accepted as
superior system from human development
perspective.
• Democracies responded with
reservation, affirmative action.

5. Consumption
Health depends on food consumption - both
quantity and quality matter. India is among the
worst performers on this score. Work for
food, free rations under public
distribution, nutrition improvement of mothers
and children are some of the activities.
6. Social Inclusion and Aadhaar
• By and large, the marginalized or vulnerable
groups subsist on the margins of society and are
often deprived of access to basic necessities such
as, health, education, housing, food, security, etc.
owing to their inability to prove identity.
• Inclusion of the vulnerable groups being the
summum bonum and metaphorically
speaking, the heart and soul of Aadhaar project
7. Production
• Finding alternate , gainful employment in non
agriculture areas in rural areas is a daunting
task.
• Traditional avenues of skill clusters, cottage
industries, micro and small enterprises are
now supplemented with self help groups
, social enterprises etc.
8. Creative class
• All developing countries want to improve quality
of life but unfortunately the paths that supported
industrialization of west are not sustainable if
billions from India and China take that route.
• Sustainability is a big issue. Solution calls for
unconventional thinking.
• A large section of society excluded themselves
from creative thinking. To address the current
and future problems, the youth need to come out
of their self excluded zones and unleash their
creativity.
