The NIFT campus used to require 15 water tankers per day. After implementing rooftop rain water harvesting to three working borewells and to one abandoned bore hole in July-2011, the water tankers supply reduced to 8 tankers from 15 per day and at present to Zero. The cost incurred for implementing was Rs 5 lakhs and the revenue saved is Rs 30 lakhs per year with almost zero maintenance required.

Bore via filtration drums at Rooftop inlet & Casing.

7. DMDE NAVAL officers quarters at Tadbund, of 4 acres
including Park, adopted Inverse Bore well method.

8. Entire Roof top & Surface water was channelized
through Drains & silt chambers into the 220ft Borehole.

9. Satsangh Ashram at Rajendra nagar spread in 4 acres.
We can find Boulders all over 3 ft below ground level.

10. IBW method adopted & boulders removed with the
help of skilled labour to the required pit size around.

11. Adopted 4 IBW methods in the entire Ashram at
suitable places.

12. Entire Roof top & Surface water is channelized into the 4 RWH
pits done thus supporting two existing Bore wells.

13. NIFT campus, near Hitech city at Madhapur spread in
10 acres with major buildings and open area.

16. The entire main building (3500sqmts) Roof top water is
allowed to this structure with existing Borehole of 200ft.

17. Flushing is done to the Borehole to increase the
Percolation & required filtration Pit arranged.

18. The excess Rain water of this Pit after filtration is
allowed to the two outlets of New bore hole.

19. A slotted pipe is arranged than normal
casing existing earlier.

20. New Bore well of 1165ft adjacent to
the existing old bore hole of 200ft.

accommodate all the excess rain water of old Bore.
