Mobile OS commoditizes MDM/MAM
OS vendors understand that these once consumer-focused devices are being used more and more in a business context, and they want to capitalize on both markets.
Features of EMM are becoming part of the mobile operating system
For instance, both Android and iOS enable IT to manage applications and their data. Android takes this one step further with their Android for Work container. Microsoft offers free basic MDM via Office 365.
Identity and data security are differentiators
Consistency across platforms, common policies across apps and devices, single pane of glass gaining importance
Key functions include SSO, DLP, data security etc.
Increased adoption of SaaS apps
Enterprises opening RFP process for new consumption models and evaluate tactical EMM decisions
Cloud brings new threats and new solutions (SWG, CASB)
Identity federation and hybrid access to cloud/on-prem are critical
High profile breaches changing user perception towards strong Authn enabled through mobile
High profile breaches (Sony, Apple, Target, Adobe, Home Depot). “stolen passwords at the core of 76% of breaches”
Mobile web tech offer new areas for breach, Mobile has steadily increasing share of high-value / sensitive transactions
Consumers demanding stronger authN – Google, Apple, Facebook, Dropbox, Wordpress, Microsoft, Twitter have adopted
Highlight the Mobile Auth and Risk based Security

Speaker’s Notes:
Oracle’s Mobile Portfolio provides a complete end to end solution that manages the entire mobile lifecycle. The key tenants to Oracle’s mobile solution is to provide a platform that allows customers to develop, connect, secure, analyze and a manage their mobile applications. With our platform customers, can build customer apps or use and or extend our 100’s of packaged mobile apps.
With Mobile Cloud Service ( which now together with Mobile Application framework) we provide all the capabilities needed to build, connect, secure, analyze and manage mobile apps quickly and efficiently. We provide Mobile Security Suite which not only is integrated with MAF/MCS but also tightly integrated with our IDM Suite – is an integral part of our Mobile offering but also can be de-coupled and used as part of a broader enterprise security initiative.
Finally Oracle and our partners continue to provide standalone out of the Mobile apps across our on premises and Cloud offerings.
Speaker’s Notes:
Oracle Mobile Cloud Service is designed to make mobile simple – for everyone. It is a comprehensive set of Cloud-based mobile services designed to make app development & integration quick, secure & easy to deploy Oracle’s Mobile Portfolio
MCS reduces the complexities of the application development by providing ready to integrate features and template backend.
Developers can focus more on the front end of the applications and can have their choice of mobile client development tools including ADF-Mobile for cross platform hybrid apps, native development or other Javascript tools
Talking points in the solution slide:
Co-exist with other MDM soln
Connect to on-prem AD
Support for Kiosk mode
Support for shared devices
App Tunnel
Secure data at rest/in transit
IDCS for scalable IDM without needing to change the existing backend application
Easy public app store distribution

Talking points in the solution slide:
mBaaS – easily develop apps using MCS with on-prem and 3rd party SaaS integration. Mobile analytics
Hybrid SSO using on-prem AD credentials and connect seamlessly to Oracle apps (DCS) and 3rd party SaaS apps (Identity Vetting and Office 365)
Support for offline access (MSCS) and syncing (MCS)
Support for context aware strong authentication (step up)
Pre-wrapped Oracle Apps (DCS) enabling easier uptake of MSCS for Oracle apps
