2. AFFIRMATIVE I play You play He play s She play s It play s We play You play They play In affirmative sentences we conjugate the main verb . It´s quite simple: we use the base form (the infinitive without “to”) “to play ”, except for the 3 rd person singular (“he”, “she”, “it”) which is marked by an “-s” at the end of the base form (“play s ”).

We conjugate it. It doesn´t have meaning and “not” is placed after it. The main verb is always placed after the auxiliary and “not”. It´s always in the base form (infinitive without “to”)

4. INTERROGATIVE Do I play? Do you play? Does he play? Does she play? Does it play? Do we play? Do you play? Do they play? In interrogative sentences we need the same auxiliary verb “to do” . Now the auxiliary is placed at the beginning of the sentence and it´s also conjugated. The subject comes after it, and then the main verb in its base form (infinitive without “to”). We can use interrogative pronouns . We put them at the beginning of the sentence.
